I was perusing A.G.'s site (great site BTW) and stumbled upon this! I'm saddened to think that he left Kershaw for CRKT, as I've always found Kershaw's products to be far superior to CRKT's in every way, but perhaps he'll bring additional credibility to some of CRKT's products. His CRKT design looks interesting, though I have no clue what Acuto+ steel is or how it performs.

Recent CRKT products seem to be made to higher standards, hopefully this brings them up even higher. The design is interesting but I too would like to know more about this steel.

It looks really promising.
Crkt had great, innovative design all the time, now if they upgrade materials and QC, it could be great.
Because Kershaw had great manufacturing and top materials here and there, but their designs are quite dull compared to crkt - g10 or stainless steel framelocks. Crkt are ready to build and sell almost ANY design knifemaker will prepare.
Ball bearing pivot, nice.

they used that acuto steel in the past.at least its better than aus-4 & 420j2..

Ken Onion, IKBS, framelock and made in Taiwan for $99! That's a heck of a good bargain.

it looks like a good deal, but the jury's out until I find out more about that steel.

As long as CRKT knives are foreign made I will not buy one. Plenty of good USA made knives to choose from. That's just me.

I am a huge Onion Fan. The CRKT model looks faithful to the original, but, it disappoints me that they went to the trouble and expense of installing IKBS and didn't bother with making the handles Ti. I have not bought a CRKT in a long time, but, I might have to give this a try. Alot of folks are saying that their quality had improved.... I dunno

I just got a CRKT Drifter and for a $22 knife it has fit and finish better than some $80 knives I've had. Freaking amazing.

Pretty good looking knife... reminds me a lot of the Todd Begg Glimpse... was Ken Onion involved in that model at all (maybe he taught Begg or something)?

Does look promising---Ken Onion, framelock, IKBS, overall shape---and all that. Just wish it was a tad longer.

Heat treated stainless steel is stronger than Ti and has higher wear resistance. IMHO, Ti is over-rated, it's only good for reducing weight.

I am fine with your argument, but, you can't anodize steel any color you want. I enjoy having my knives customized and Ti works much better.

He did not leave Kershaw. They did not renew his contract.

Funny, I followed that change pretty closely being a rabid Kershaw AND Ken Onion fan (his designs are still my all time favorites)

I'm almost positive no one has ever disclosed the details of Ken Onion taking a different path. I believe both parties wish that to remain the case, so I'm not sure your statement of "fact" has much foundation.
