It was a fun and exciting (the actual derby this year) time !
Will - very kind of you to pass along your 3rd place to 4th !![]()
Well, you said you were in it to win it !![]()
Jeff, I'm sure all that bumping we did along the rail was my fault, probably because all the Chinese-made knives I own have turned me into a Rough Rider!Where are the Stewards? GT fouled me on the rail, and . . . oh, wait a second . . . I fouled him! Sorry G, I was just too high strung!
Great fun, Primble, and congrats to all the winners!
To me, that's interesting that the interchanging of "5" and "F" goes both ways; I'd have guessed that it might happen in only one direction.Only occasionally when writing a check or filling out a form. My mind glitches as to whether I'm using the numeral or spelling out the word, and it comes out as 5ive or 5ifty.
It is not my mind GT - it's that darn cat !Jeff, I'm sure all that bumping we did along the rail was my fault, probably because of all the Chinese-made knives I own have turned me into a Rough Rider!![]()

(Of course, the computer geeks who work with hexadecimal (base 16) numerals are prone to interchanging "F" and "15", since in hexadecimal, F is the "digit" representing 15, the largest hexadecimal digit.)

I have been to the Kentucky Derby in person 4 times in my life. It was memorable each time, but I prefer to watch it televised because you can see more about the race progress. Keeneland race track in Lexington during the week days is where most people around here go for the horse races. Glad you had some fun 2 !Primble that was a hilarious and entertaining GAW!
I intended to follow along as it unfolded, but our weekend turned into a bit of mess, and I had to catch up after the fact.
My grandparents used to take us to the horse races at Oaklawn in Hot Springs, AR when we were kids. That was always a lot of fun.
I’ve never been to the Kentucky Derby, but we did go to the Preakness one year when my brother was going to school in DC. Those big races are quite a spectacle, but I have to say I really prefer going to the track on a normal, slower day.
Thanks again for a fun giveaway!![]()
I can remember going to see greyhound racing as a boy, my family have been going to the dogs for years!![]()
Fine looking cat. They tend to be so regal. Elijah surely is.It is not my mind GT - it's that darn cat !
Well I reckon it might be a little bit my mind, but, mostly, once again, it's that Maine Coon Elijah J. that thinks he always has to have his nose in all my business !
If you had been here, you would know what I mean. Why, just the other morning, he was trying to wake me up, without a lot of success, so he got behind my back and started head butting me, trying to push me out of the bed at 6:00 a.m.
and he wasn't a free kitten 3 years ago, I had to pay for him !

I've been to that track. Like you, once. We got hammered drunk yet somehow made it across the river to our hotel.
My dad, brother and I went to a dog track in West Memphis once. It was an interesting experience.![]()
