I've wondered the same. Any A2 blade I've ever owned has performed superbly.I like the look and A2 is great stuff. I wonder why we don't see it used more often.
The etched A2 blade with the lightly sanded swedging lines is just the coolest look ever. Genius.

It is good stuff....but how many slip joint makers are making knives with carbon steel blades? There are some but I see mostly 1095 or near-stainless D2. The stainless just stays purrrrrrty so much longer...![]()
Stainless looks purty, but I still prefer carbon steel in my custom slip joints. In a way I'm lucky, because if more custom slip joint makers used carbon steel, my budget would be really shot.
