Kerry Hampton Knives

Kerry,

As I stated elsewhere, it's getting harder to tell your knives from those other two guys at Wilfred Works!

Truly a work of high knife making art, fabulous.

Jeff

Outstanding knife Kerry:thumbup:
I really like the looks of a Serpentine, and how they feel in hand.

Sweet pattern and what a fantastic job. Yikes.

Kudos Kerry!
Not my favorite frame, but an absolutely sublime knife all the same.

Very nice...Someone is going to be very pleased.

Thanks for all the various ways you guys show appreciation. I ...uhhh.....appreciate it. ;) Dang, did it really take me a month to finish that knife? :o

I've been working on this knife for a while as I am having trouble getting out of my summer knifemaking schedule :p I think it knocked that dang monkey off my back, though, and I am getting back to somewhat of a regular schedule. Anywho, this little knife doesn't look that difficult but those narrow blades are a bee-otch to grind, I'm here to tell ya. They are basically muskrat blades in a standard trapper configuration. I ground them on a 14" contact wheel and finished them to 220 grit and fine Scotchbrite.

First, a couple of crappy WIP bench pix

You're killing me Kerry!

I REALLY need one of these!

Ahhh! sunk-joints too! Admirable curve on it, this knife has got an Old Sheffield aura about it.

Hi Kerry, You did a great job on the knife as usual and that pattern is a really nice one. WOW!

Kerry, awesome knife and incredible craftsmanship (as always). A question....any particular reason for the cam tangs (I think I have that right) as opposed for square tangs?

I'm kinda all over the place in my current building spectrum; from delicate elegance to gaudy utility. This Khnutbuster(haven't made one of these in a long while) was made as a gift for a family member and I understand it's owner is a plumber. Morrow speculated he will use it to scrape solder. :p Whatever...I think he might like this, especially since it will stand up to an accidental drop in a toilet. :D

The covers are black 'n blue carbon fiber, steel is ATS-34.

That one reminds of a Kenny Wayne Shepherd song...Blue on Black.
Nice knife Kerry!
