Kerry Hampton Knives

Oh boy. I am as excited over that one as the guy getting it!

Sweet work Kerry.

Well, speaking as the lucky bastid in Israel getting that knife, all I can say is taht it is everything I had hoped for and more. Thanks, Kerry, for the terrific job, and thanks, Gus, for helping us get er together.

WHEW! I'm always happy when something I have made makes it home. That one took the scenic route for sure. :) I have knives in 4 countries now. :D

Just sharpened this one today, an 3 7/8" Ivory Tenn. Jack going to a friend of the forums in Israel. Blade and springs are etched A2.

I love that knife - your most beautiful yet. To paraphrase the great (but crazy) Nikola Tesla...

"I have been feeding pigeons [collecting knives], thousands [dozens] of them, for years. But there was one pigeon [knife], a beautiful bird [Tennessee Jack], pure white [ivory] with light gray [charcoal] tips [etching] on its wings [blades]; that one was different. It was a female [?]. I would know that pigeon [knife] anywhere. No matter where I was that pigeon [knife] would find me [someone call the cops], when I wanted her I had only to wish and call her she would come flying to me. She understood me and I understood her.

I loved that pigeon [knife].

Yes, I loved her as a man loved a woman, and she loved me.

As I looked at her I knew she wanted to tell me that she was dying [being sold]. And then as I got her message [got a grip], there came a light from her eyes [restraining order from Kerry's attorney] - powerful beams of light [very nasty restraining order]."

I've been working on this knife for a while as I am having trouble getting out of my summer knifemaking schedule :p I think it knocked that dang monkey off my back, though, and I am getting back to somewhat of a regular schedule. Anywho, this little knife doesn't look that difficult but those narrow blades are a bee-otch to grind, I'm here to tell ya. They are basically muskrat blades in a standard trapper configuration. I ground them on a 14" contact wheel and finished them to 220 grit and fine Scotchbrite.

First, a couple of crappy WIP bench pix

Oh, man!! That is just what I need! What a perfect knife for a geezer's pocket!!:D

Well, anybody's pocket for that matter!!! Nice work, Mr. K-Head!

Thanks for the WIP shots, Kerry.

That's a sweet looking knife, Kerry. That blade combo is my absolute favorite. :-)

I'm glad you finished this one up Kerry. I've been waiting for it for quite some time. You still have my address? :p

Truly superb, Kerry. Bee-otch or not, I love those slender blades for the kind of work I use my EDC for.

What a terrific combination.
