Kerry Hampton Knives

I need to baby this knife for a few days and allow it to dry out. Sanding with lamp oil always makes the ivory swell up a little bit. When it settles down, I'll sharpen it and send it South.;)

I'm going out now to buy me a thesaurus for superlatives. You guys kill me. Must be the water in Indiana.

Thats a stunner Kerry ! The location and size of the pulls will make or break a knife and you nailed those (no pun intended, OK, maybe it was :D )

I'm on my way to church and I'd sure love to put that one in my pocket! Well done Kerry!

Kerry, what type of steel did you use?

Wagglebee just took the words out of my mouth and beat me to it. Yes, please give stats on this drop dead GORGEOUS Honey of a slipjoint?

Do I detect an acid etch on her here too?

She is perfect!

In any event, Congrats, James and Kerry! :)

Now that is enough to make the great pumkin keel over.

I'll post the stats up in the OP. Thanks so much for the encouragement, folksies. ;)

The ferric chloride etch turned out great.

Beautiful knife.

Side note / question: Could the bolsters take an etch to match the blades?

NO SPEARMENTING ON THIS ONE PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE,

Kerry, please pay attention to what Gig said in his revised quote.

no fear...the bolsters are 410 SS. FC won't etch it.

....but I was thinkin about what a hammered look would be like. :D

...and speaking of getting hammered, It would be a good time to get hammered after finishing that one :p
