Kerry Hampton Knives

Wow! Is that some sort of natural micarta or is it meant to have a chestnut brown color to it?

Kerry said in the PM it was natural linen. It does look to have a chesnut brown color, and looks like brown canvas, or a dark natural canvas to me??? But it does have some of the tiny black spots(which I love) that is often seen in natural linen.
I'm sure its natural linen, as Kerry said, and have no idea how he got that beautifull shade of brown.
I really love the looks of this micarta, it kinda has that antique look to it, IMO.

Thanks alot for all the kind comments folks!
And a huge thanks again to Kerry:thumbup:

I feel like I did as a kid when Christmas was nearing:p....I can't wait to get my hands on this one!

I thought it looks more like a coarse linen...somewhere between canvas and linen. The color might be just a tad darker than the natural linen you see being used today.

Wonderful knife Your Knuttiness!:thumbup::D
And the personal dates inside just ice the cake!! That knife ain't never going secondary!

Hey Kerry did you include Canada? (Even though I am American:D)

Oh, CANADA! I forgot bout that, you sneeky devil. That means I only have 191 countries left to go for world domination. And I thought this was going to be a tough goal to make. :D

It really is a nice touch. When Kerry made the KHnutbuster for my wedding he stamped the wedding date on the inside liner and IIRC that was the first time he did that. Even my wife who isn't much of a knifenut liked that little detail. Instant heirloom.

Yep, thats was my thoughts when I first saw the pics. In that it has some characteristics of a natural linen and canvas micarta.

Anyway, I like it better than the natural linen or canvas being used today:thumbup: I have a few fixed blades in each, and like this better than either.

And better yet, now I get to tell folks its some antique old school Natural Linen:p

I'm glad I saw yours, thats were I got the idea. My Mother passed the day after christmas, so i asked Kerry if he could stamp her birth date and that date on a liner. She and my 15 year old daughter were very close, so I feel this one will be in the family long after I'm gone.

Just got THE PM... with pics:eek::D Yeah, I'm pretty stoked:p

Can't wait to get my hands on this one! One fine looking Khnutbuster if I must say so myself! I kinda narrowed it down to a couple of micartas and shields, and Kerry went with these, and boy am I happy he went with these. Love the micarta, gimp shield, and the bronze birdseye pivot. Didn't even think to ask for a birdseye pivot, and I've very glad Kerry went with one. I don't know how he does it, but it seems he just knows what you would want!

Kerry stamped some special dates in the liners for me, and this one will really mean alot to me.
I can't thank you enough Kerry:thumbup:

I really like that Micarta, congratulations!!

I am going to have to contact Kerry and see if he can make something for me.

Well...let's see, FLymon....you seem like a Lanny's Clip w/A2, etched, natural linen, and big balls shield kinda guy. I just happen to have one...will this be ok or do I have to make you something special? :p

Very cool Kerry. Love the contrast of the etched blade , frames and Micarta.

I love that etch you do Kerry! What a wonderful looking knife! That pick ain't too shabby either! ;)

That looks great Kerry. How thick are those scales?

I sliced them off a block that was about 1/2" thick...I think they might have been close to 3/16" thick. I like that thickness on shadow patterns 4" and bigger...gives you more of a roundness feel in the hand.
