Kerry Hampton Knives

I love that etch you do Kerry! What a wonderful looking knife! That pick ain't too shabby either! ;)

Thanks...I don't know why no one else is doing it, but I think it makes a distinctive and interesting looking knife.

BTW this A2 blade is sharp as allgetout. I put a very aggressive angle to the edge(as you can see) and potentially is the sharpest thing I have made. My left arm has a very large hairless patch now. :D

That natural linen looks great with that etch. Great grinds on that Lanny's and it just oozes sharpness. The whole package rocks. Who made the lanyard?

I put my lanyard hat on and made that. :p

I appreciate the kind comments, guys. Thank you.

I'm goning to have to try this. I like the voluptuousness! :o

I sliced them off a block that was about 1/2" thick...I think they might have been close to 3/16" thick. I like that thickness on shadow patterns 4" and bigger...gives you more of a roundness feel in the hand.

...oh and would you like to have a matching knife pick Bose/Hampton collaboration? :D   ;)

That will do just fine, thank you!
Can't wait to see it in person Kerry. It's like you read my mind when we spoke on Friday ;)
That pick idea of yours was pure genius I tell ya.

Job well Done Kerry, congratulations on the score Flymon. (And on the date inscribed)
Jim

Congrats FLymon!, and to Kerry also for making another outstanding folder:thumbup:

The etched Blade is a really nice touch, and love that pic also.

The LK, is a great pattern (IMO). I have one on order with Kerry, but still have a long wait on that one.

Well I guess there is one advantage to being a ways down on KH's waiting list. I get to see everyone else's ideas come together, so when its finally my turn I have a better idea of what Im after. That Lanny's is one of my faves for sure. The etched A2, the shield, the micarta, the birds eye, it all works together. Keep rockin it man.

Wow! Another nice one!

BTW, you do have a stockpile of that particular micarta, right? ;)

ps. Nice lanyard work! Boatswain's whistle knot?

I haven't heard the round knot called that...a lanyard knot is what I know it as, and the other end near the clip is part of a hangmans knot

and yes I have some more of that handle stuff, whatever it's called. Jim Todd sent me that stuff a while back and I'm just now getting around to using some. Very folksy kookin stuff

If this keeps up I'll never be ready for my second Hampton when my chance comes around. Definitely going to get a pick next time. (Don't need it, just think they are ultra cool too!)

Kerry makes the best lanyards too but we won't talk about that. Wouldn't want him to stop making knives to tie lanyards would we?

Please forgive my ignorance, but I've never run into a knife pick before and can't find it on Google. Can you guys enlighten me what it is used for?

Ben,it's a steel fingernail. It was brought about,so you did not bust your fingernail,as it gives you leverage, using it to open the slipjoint folder, particularly one with a stiff spring

What Vince said, plus, cutlers, assembling and adjusting knives all day long, would make a few knife picks for themselves, to save their thumb nails from shredding to bits.
Cutleries sporadically made them for sale or as giveaways. I think we've had a thread or two about them. Might turn up in a search.
