Finally got my Camp 10 in and figured I would post up some pics for those that hadn't seen enough of it yet.

Only thing I had handy for comparison was a Becker BK5, which isn't a small knife by any means. This thing is a beast. Initial impressions are very nice, I think it will make for a fine chopper, and the price point is unreal for a knife of this size. Can't really say for certain until I get out and sink it into some wood, but it feels like it should do the job nicely. The rubber hand grip is very aggressive with the diamond pattern in it, so much so that it might cause hot spots, but should smooth out with time and use. The change from an almost full flat grind to the saber grind was a smart move in my opinion, as this thing feels like it has a bit of heft to it, but not so much that you would wear yourself out using it. The sheath is nice, although it does rattle since it is not form fitted to the blade but rather more of a pocket shape. The retention strap is not reversible with the included hardware. With some tinkering one could move the anchor point of the strap, but it would take a bit of tinkering or different screws to make it happen. All of the screws had loctite on them, which made them very difficult to get apart (and resulted in some stripped phillips holes) but a little elbow grease got them to break loose. The pommel is plastic, but you can see and feel that there is metal directly behind it, all the way throughout the handle. On the backside you actually see the belt loop reversed onto the bottom strap. It is a very floppy belt loop, much like the one that comes on the stock BK2 sheath. Again though, nothing a little bit of tinkering couldn't fix.

All in all, quite a nice knife for the price. $40 well spent.

Thanks Derek. Mine is stuck in the postal system, but the pics have helped me to be a little less sceptical about it being a capable chopper.

Can't say that I like the looks of the sheath, but the knife itself is very appealing. Thanks for posting more pix!

When you say the retaining strap can't be reversed, you mean swapping the snap and retaining screw, not switching it from side to side, right?

The retention strap is meant to be reversible. It should unscrew and reverse. If there is too much loctite on the fasteners, let me know and I will discuss it with the factory.

The blade is 65MN carbon steel (equivalent to 1065) and it is 5mm (0.2") thick.

Thanks for the pics. These look like they should be good beaters... And the 14-incher looks especially tasty.

Thanks for the info! Will that hold true across all three sizes?

The snap side cannot be switched with the retaining screw side (that anchors the strap onto the sheath)

I can move the strap from front to back, but I cannot move it to the other side. The side with the snaps has a larger hole with a threaded sleeve that fits in it and two very tiny screws that fit through the snaps. The other side has a longer, larger screw but smaller hole, and then a small screw post that holds the strap on. I will get a few pics when I get home. Less loctite would definitely be better, I stripped 3 of the 4 phillips screws on my screwdriver bits.
