Kershaw 1077 Camp 10 Pics

Dang, looks pretty good for $40. Not sure I like it enough to get one for myself since I already have a bunch of big choppers and even more on my short list, but it's good to see more option on the market.

I;ve had mine for a few weeks, and I'm well pleased with the way that it handles and cuts. A bit thicker blade would have been more to my liking, but what's provided seems to work okay. I don't like the sheath at all, but for $40, I can live with it until I find a better one.

Now I wonder how long we'll have to wait for the other two models.

There is a thread over in the Becker sub forum where I think the OP tested the Camp 10 against a few other larger knives like the BK9. It did just as good as the more expensive BK9. A steal for $40. Really need to order one!

I could easily see this blade ultimately costing me several thousands of dollars. Why? I just don't have enough to chop down around my house. I would have to end up moving into a more rural area just to get the chance to use the freaking thing.

I picked up one yesterday. I like it! At that price it is a winner.

Size wise it is on par with the Outcast and the Busse NMFSH. I'm really chuffed that I can add another tool in this size range. Saterday the youngsters where chopping with the Outcast and the NMFSH. They seem to prefer the camp10 mainly due the weight difference. For me the is just much less stress with them using the likes of the Kershaw Outcast and the camp 10! It hurts a lot less if a $40-$50 is lost as opposed to the NMFSH which is a couple of $$$ more :-)

I have not used it practically like the kids but what I observed with them using it, it looks like it is up to the task. I like the sheath, looks fit for purpose at the price range. I will not carry it on a belt but on a bag. In hand the camp 10 feels a bit "heavier" than the outcast and the grip is definitely a bit "thicker".

I have always felt the outcast was hugely under rated as a chopper and even my busse kin agreed on that after using it....

Now I can't wait to go and play with the camp 10!
