No thanks! UNLESS they offer it with something other than all metal scales. Metal scales on both sides has become a deal breaker for me. Slick, slippery, sharpish, scuffed or scratched.... pick at least one! (unless it's for display only).

Offer it in G10, and suddenly I'm interested...
... maybe we will get some more handle options (some CF or g10 would be awesome with the subframe lock.) ...

I'm not trying to be difficult, I simply want to understand and see if I'm missing something! So..... Why do you like aluminum scales?
It's the closest thing to an unassisted 0770 that I'm going to get, and I like aluminum handles.

I think it looks great, but it's a pass for me. I've gotten used to the sticker shock of paying ZT prices, so even if it walks and talks like a ZT, it's still not going to be quite "there". That said, I found my old Junkyard Dog II in the drawer the other night. I had forgotten just how tight and well built the US made ZTs could be.

I think I might give the 7777 a chance it comes in G10 down the road. I don't mind full metal grips, but at this pricepoint I would rather it be grippy and functional instead of aluminum trying to come off like titanium. Still, it looks like a winner. I hope y'all enjoy it:)

seeing as i already own a ZT 0770cf in s35vn ill pass

Kudos to Kershaw for a USA made knife as well as a non speed safe knife!

Wish it had a different steel but I may grab one.

I like the way it looks. It's like the lovechild of the link/dividend and natrix. I imagine they'll do it in m390. Wish they were using Sandvik on the new Concierge (Sinkevich design). Such a good looking knife deserves better than 8Cr.

I've got the original 0770 with aluminum scales, and one in CF (M4)...and the Bareknuckle has one big thing going for it - it's the right size. The 0770 has always felt too small to me; and, even now that I'm getting used to smaller knives, it has never won me over (except for the aesthetics, of course - I still love the way it looks). I'm not really in the market for a new knife; but I'd certainly consider taking one of these in trade. The copper natrix COULD have gotten me...but it's a good bit smaller than the other versions. Not even for copper can I bring myself to open my wallet for a 2.75" bladed modern.

agreed 100%

I am also just glad to see Kershaw making a new USA-Made knife again. There was a time when they were making great USA-Made knives and lots of them. I wish they would make something in the vein of the JYD II (change the clip), Rake, or Piston (really liked that knife). Basically I would like to see some G10/Sandvik flippers made again, but with bearings instead of speed safe. They could do this without hurting ZT’s sales and keep the prices at $70 or less.

Wait and see...

I like it, but I'm really hoping for a finger choil on the next knife I buy. I realize literally none of my knives have finger choils... Hence I may probably pick this one up someday, but it's not next on the list at the moment.

Im glad too see some discussion here! I don't want to try and reply to everyone in this thread as much as I would like too, it would create too long and too many posts. Thank you all for the feedback and Im glad to see there are a couple people as excited about another USA made kershaw as I am!
The aluminum scales is also the only thing that Im not crazy about, I would much rather be in something like g10 that gives at least a little traction, and does not feel so darn cold during the winter. The ergonomics do look like the knife would lock in the hand good so maybe traction wont be as much as a problem.
Im doubting that the scales will hold me back however because I love so many other things about the knife (I will put skateboard tape on there if I have to!), and knowing kershaw Im expecting good fit and finish and probably a very thin ground blade.
I think this knife WILL sell well and that KAI will offer some different variations of this model.

I want one and have it on pre order. The other Natrix models with the g10 scales seemed to flex a lot . Looks like the aluminum will give more support and I don't mind if they scratch because it's going to be my edc and doesn't have to look pretty. I'm not a big fan of the speedsafe opener so thats also a plus and American made is great too. It's a lot of knife with good steel without the ZT price.

They pushed the bar higher with the dividend in m390 for under $80. The blur in s30v goes for about $70. This should be priced alongside the 14c28 blurs, it’s priced high, like the knockout, but for an American made blade that isn’t 420HC maybe I’m expecting yesterday’s prices. 14c28 is fine, but it’s still a conventional steel. If it were g10 would the price be lower or higher? I’m still used to getting any 14c28 blade for about $40, but this and the knockout seem better built overall than the dividend. I’ll get this knife when it’s made in m390 or 20cv. I’m glad it’s not another made in China blade, or American made 420HC at least! And if I had to choose a conventional steel, I’d take this one over any other Kershaw besides the knockout.

Definitely a great knife on specs and IMO the profile of the knife is a step up from the natrix and 770.
But I'm a vain person and I just don't like the look of that coutoured handle.

Would seriously consider if they popped out a version with another handle material/design.

I’m waiting on the special edition versions in upgrade steels for this one.

Carbon fibre body plz!

I'll wait for g10 and a better steel. Good for Kershaw on the effort though.

I'm avoid the Kai brand now due to how cocky they are. They think they can do no wrong because of sales numbers. Which is why they will make designs people want visually and care less about anything more. Bareknuckle was something I was interested in but no longer. The non stop cocky reps at zt and Kershaw are the turn off and I now understand why they left bladeforums. The other issue is the lack of decent lock geometry.

I think most fanboys won't agree but I'm just sharing my point of view on the company now.

Pleased for everyone who will dig this, but just not my style aesthetically. Hope it works out for the enthusiasts.
