Kershaw at Blade Show 2008

I'll have images up when I get home...Damn it's late.

LOL, maybe late for you back in Atlanta. Back home on the west coast, we're just getting started coach!!:D O.K., I'm lying, it's ten after midnight and I'm on my way to bed. I have to be up REALLY early to make it to a 5 mile fundraiser walk for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in San Francisco for my daughter. Hell, I should be asleep already!!

Hope you're having a good time Thomas! Remember to send me those prototypes when you're done!!;)

Oh this sure looks awesome....but in MA we can't have autos...:(

I guess I will have to buy every other ZT product instead! :D

This presents an interesting dilemma for me and NGK. In VA, they're not illegal to own, just to carry. I wonder how NGK will address this?

me too md and dc knife laws arent strict unless autos are involved and I really want both the hawk and galyean autos

I don't think they would do anything different from any of the other companies that offer autos in their line.

AFAIK, NGK does not sell Benchmade, Boker, Spyderco, Lone Wolf, Microtech, H&K, CRKT and William Henry automatic knives. Yet each of these manufacturers offers or offered auto knives in their lines and are lines that NGK carries.

I fail to see the dilemma as far as NGK is concerned. Why would they give special treatment to Kershaw over other brands (especially ones that have a strong history of quality autos)? Why would they risk their successful business so a couple of loyal customers can get an auto knife?

You, OTOH, might have to look elsewhere to procure any Kershaw/ZT autos. It's not the end of the world. :)

I'd prefer not to ascend the slippery of liberal MA laws....better respect them and not hagve any trouble.....

besides ZT and Kershaw offer such a great variety of fast opening blades that i doubt an auto would give anything but cool factor :D

Thanks for the input, but I didn't say or imply that NGK would give special treatment to Kershaw, nor jeopardize their business for a couple of loyal customers. If I decide to get one of Kershaw's autos, and NGK is not carrying them, I do know of a few other places to look.

You're right, you didn't say those things. You asked how NGK would handle the fact that Kershaw is now offering autos. Knowing that they carry several other brands and that they don't carry their autos, I was only questioning why you thought they would do anything differently. I have to assume that they won't give special treatment to one particular line as far as autos are concerned.

Don't get me wrong, I understand loyalty. I'm very loyal to gpknives myself. It helps that I live only 35 minutes away. But I have no dilemma if I want a knife that is a brand that he doesn't carry, an auto, or a specific custom.

Speaking of gpknives, I'm heading up there in a little bit to pick up some Damascus Chives. :)
