Hey ya'll!
So, I've decided to purchase a Kershaw Camp 10. After years of using smaller knives and hatchets extensively, I've decided to go ahead and try a big ol' chopper!
Now, I realize this might seem like a stupid question, but please hear me out...
I'm wondering whether to go with the black and grey handle or the tan and black handle. Overall, I like the look of the tan handle more (grey and black one looks a little "toyish" if you ask me...) but I actually am thinking that the black and grey one is better for functionality.
On the tan and black handle, the part where the blade meets the handle is black -The exact color of the blade. I could actually see this causing a little bit of a safety issue. Having these two parts being the same color could cause a little confusion as to where the blade starts and ends. Sort of out of the corner of your eye type of thing... On the black and grey handle the part where the blade meets the handle is light grey -Causing a stark contrast. I feel intuitively better knowing that there is a clear visual that marks where the blade starts and stops... But it looks so darn cartoony to me! Good contrast in a survival scenario I suppose, but also doesn't camoflauge as well...
Make sense to any of ya'll??
Would appreciate your feedback. Especially from someone who owns the knife... I have around ten knives or so and they all have clearly different colored handles and blades.
Just something I've been thinking about!
