Kershaw CAMP 10... Grey/ black Handle or Tan/ black Handle???

what is the steel on these kershaws....I know its a a carbon, but a 1055, or 1080 or 5160? anyone know?

Well thanks to this thread I just ordered another FDE Camp 10.

I have 10 different SP models from Ontario and have not experienced the separation. I did see the one YouTube reviewer who had an issue with an SP53. All three of mine have not exhibited that characteristic.

Are they older models or newer ones?? I've seen the problems occurring in recent -Maybe post 2018?? I wrote Ontario a day or two ago, but haven't heard back yet. Maybe this week...? This guy posted a video in 2019 of three of his Ontarios defective:

I have an SP-01 that I’ve had for probably 25 years. I’ve beat the absolute hell out of that thing. It’s been everything from a kitchen knife to a tent stake and everything in between.

Not one hint of the handle coming loose, but it’s been sharpened so much the blade profile is a lot different.

LOVE IT! HECK YEAH! Just "Using stuff"!

I'd personally trade in that bottle of vodka for some gin, however...

Okay, so update:

I bought both of em... haha!

Returned the black and grey one because as I suspected, it felt a little cartoony to me. FDE version is BADASS!!! The black at the top of the handle being the same color as the blade didn't bother me in person whatsoever... The grey one actually bothered me more, which surprised me!

Gonna order another FDE so I have two. Trying to find an alternative to Amazon currently...

Got my camp 10 in the mail today and I love it. I went for the tan and the black guard is more than enough to keep your hand away from the cutting edge.
