Kershaw Cryo 2!?!?!?!

Shush, don't tell anybody. I ordered a cryo just to check it out. When I saw it was only 25 bucks I just couldn't help it. When did kershaw knives get so cheap?

They bounce around but that's about the lowest I've seen them. As soon as the all black version get's to that price I may buy one for a gift.

The bead blast is the usual bare metal satin finish of most kershaws. the TI has a silverish coating on it.

I dont understand the hype surrounding the cryo. I have one and never use it because of the pocket clip. Good looking knife but horrible pocket clip IMO

I don't really care for deep-carry that much, but I actually like it on the Cryo. I think it has to do with the Cryo not having G-10 or anything that much catch in the pocket a little more compared to a smooth service.

Clips are a matter of preference, and one of many features of a knife. There are options with a few BF members for you to have a new clip made if you'd like.

The hype comes from people that have actually carried and used the knife, which are many. Like me! It's an awesome entry level Kershaw that has a lot of features I enjoy. It's been a regular carry for me.

The first time I carried it my fingers got cut up bad by it's sharp edges and the blade opening in my pocket. After comparing it to my Random Leek with the blade lock I noticed the clip was reversed? I changed it and had better results but mine still has sharp edges on the thumbstud, clip and other areas.
At least it didn't open up this time.

It's a nice looking knife and has a under 3" blade which makes it legal to carry concealed in my state. With the flipper I find no use for the thumbstud. I'm still not sure why they have one on any folder with a flipper.

Overall .. I think Kershaw should make them in the U.S.A, tighten up their quality control, lose the thumbstud and put a 3" blade on it with a safety lock.

We make USA Hinderer designs, with another coming. For those that want more of an OPP, there are import versions of his designs. There are additional imports coming as well.

As to our quality control, it is more than fine.

More nitpicking from the masses I see.
Agreed. We're not big on commentary consisting of "you're doing it wrong, and should be doing it like I tell you to". It is fine not to like a knife, but going further with general commentary about direction and quality control are really not welcome.

The new rules are just that, new. We'll cut some slack early.

Sorry if the suggestions offend you. Bleeding all over myself and clothes offends me. This is the first knife that I ever owned that had these issues.

Sorry you were bleeding all over yourself Hypermole. I'm unsure of the details with your situation. Carrying any knife can result in accidental situations like you describe. In many cases it is just the circumstances associated with the situation, and just carrying a sharp tool.

As to the sharp clip, you should call and get a replacement clip. It's free to our valued customer. Maybe the one you received had unusually sharp edges. If so, sorry about that. You'll notice none of our SpeedSafe knives outside of early ones currently incorporate a safety. We've found the bias to closure more than satisfactory for user safety. We hear little to none from customers about accidental openings due to the bias to close we incorporate. If the knife you have does not seem to stay closed, please send it in for replacement. We'll even trade you out a different pattern from the defective Cryo should that be the case, or be of interest. :)

In any case, sorry for your disappointment and your injury.

As to the above commentary about the new rules, please let me explain. You will see that we put a specific expectation in our rules about warranty and problems associated with our knives. You can read them here; http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1071930-Read-Before-You-Post-in-the-Kershaw-Zero-Tolerance-forum
We all understand stuff happens, of which some of it is infuriating. What we want here, are for people to collect themselves prior to posting. Attitudes are not going to be tolerated under any circumstance. We'll deal with the situation, but we like it to be calm, cool, and collected. It's just better this way.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to your future posts.

I think the pocket clip is one of the Cryo's best features. To each his own I guess...

I'm calm and collected, own quite a number of Kershaw knifes and a sweet multitool. I also have supervised a quality control department.

I will familiarize myself with your rules. I just posted in another manufactures thread that was asking for suggestions?

I will just return the knife for a refund.

I understand what Hypermole is saying. Its easy to tell the difference between a USA made Kershaw and a Chinese made one. To Kershaws defense though it is a damn good knife and is higher quality than any other brand that I have seen in that price range under $30 (and even some more expensive). My issue is just that the clip doesn't have any give and it is too tight of a fit for me to take in and out of my pocket easily rendering it useless (for me) to use as an EDC. Its not nitpicking it is an issue I have with this product. I don't think everyone needs to be so defensive as long as the criticism is constructive. I feel customer feedback should be encouraged and welcomed..

It's an issue you already mentioned, and a solution already given.

Well that's the key isn't it golof, if there is criticism it needs to be constructive. We've had a ton of problems with attitude here. We're not going to tolerate any longer. The rules are laid out, and are plain/simple. Follow them or don't. Not following them results with such members not participating here.

Feedback from customers are not a problem as long as it's within the rules, and has a level of respect attached to it. Unfortunately many members don't have manners, and it's made those that are fans, and us the manufacturer a bit upset.

The idea here is to have a good time and share experiences(*). Do you have any further questions concerning this matter?
