Got the Cryo a few days ago, I never quite got used to the spring assist and it just so happens I had a piece of Orange G-10. So I figured, what the hell. It's a well built little tank of a knife but the Ti coating on the scale wasn't to my liking. I Almost went with the Ansø pattern (scaloped) like I have been doing but I recently acquired an Ansø Boker 67 (ironic that this one doesn't have his signature pattern) and really dug the smooth look. It's almost polished but not quite.
I removed the torsion bar, Wow! what a difference...It feels and sounds very similar to my XM-18 (the action does)

Here's what it looks like now

Started out with a little piece of orange G-10

It actually is less shiny than it looks

One of my pet peeves is making a scale and not having the blade center up or having the lockup change, this project kept the lockup exact to what it was before and it remained dead nuts centered :D

My motivation for changing the scale....

Thanks for looking!

That looks great!

How is the detent? On some models the torsion bar is the only thing holding the blade in the handle.

i even like the lanyard on the end :D

did this lower the overall weight of the knife with the g10?

Quite simply, that looks awesome! I just got the Cryo, as well, and it's a great little flipper. A bit heavy but very tough for a small edc. Orange is just about my favorite handle scale color, so I'm really digging your scale. Great job!

can you make a video of how well the knife opens without the assisted spring, i have mine coming in the mail and i might be interested in doing that as well.

Great work, I didnt like the Cryo at first, but it looks like a whole new (and 10x better) knife, I might have to pick one up so I can mod it.
