Kershaw Cryo New Orange Scales!

That's some great work! I really love how the orange scale contrasts with the dark, gunmetal grey of the Cryo's blade. I haven't seen that before, usually the blades are satin/stonewashed, etc, sometimes black, but that combo looks fantastic (&, icing on the cake, your lanyard looks like a perfect match of the two colors, wow)!

Hey Guys, thank you so much for all of your kind words! I'm glad you all like it.... It was fairly straight forward to make and i'm glad i went with the semi polished look. I actually feel the knife has some classy lines and nice contrasting hardware, so i decided to capitalize on what was already there.

Thanks for looking!

That looks great!
How is the detent? On some models the torsion bar is the only thing holding the blade in the handle.

Hey Goosey, it has a detent ball but the detent is mostly non existent. I may have to drill the blade itself to make a cradle for the detent. The flipper needs a bit of wrist action but the thumb stud deployment is excellent! It is buttery smooth. it didn't become a "gravity" knife lol.

Where would I get a sheet of G10 like that from?

Hey Ded, Google 1/8" orange g-10 and look below the images.... :D

The stuff i used is smoother and not textured at all (perfect for polishing or doing the 3D look). If you want textured, do a search for "peel ply"

Great job!
How well does it work without the assisted mech?

It is a buttery smooth opener (using the thumbstuds) but the flipper needs some more detent to actually be able flip with zero wrist action.
It's pretty easy to remove the torsion bar and pretty easy to reinstall...

Nice looking work! I'm not a big fan of orange myself but with the blade color it looks good on the Cryo. I think it would also look good in an olive drab or tan.
