Is it worth the 34.99? I looked over past posts here and people like the thermite and chill and nura but I didn't see anything about the cryo. What is y'all's take on it?

I bought a Cryo, because of all the hype. For $35 I think its worth the money, but for some reason I cant get myself to carry it

I don't own a Cryo but I sharpen one for a guy at work on a regular basis. Personally, I really like the knife. Seems well worth the price to me.

It's a decent knife for the price. 8Cr13MoV is just an average steel. It holds a decent edge, but I find that I have to sharpen it more often than I would like. I bought two for $20 each when a vendor was clearing them out. If it was at $35, I would have put the money towards something like the Delica instead.

I really like my Cryo. I have the Blackwash version and it is a very nice knife, especially for the money they get for them. I don't carry mine very often because I have a few higher end, nicer knives but I play around with it quite a bit. It is a little on the heavy side but I kinda like that aspect of it. It just gives it a very solid feel to it.

Make sure you handle one first. I bought one and it ended up being too small, and thanks to the steel scales, entirely too heavy for what it was. I ended up giving it to the wife, who carries it in her purse. I then bought a Cryo II, and that knife is great, but again, just really heavy. So, I don't carry it. To be fair, there's not much room for it in my rotation given how many other knives I own, all with better steels.

Personally I think the cryo is an outstanding knife, IF you opt for the g-10 version. Even though it has average steel I prefer it to a similarly-sized mini-griptilian; it's got a leaner grind and better ergonomics.

I hate the cryo with a passion! From the sharp frame lock, to the weight for it's size, it blows! I've had 3 of them fail on me in the assist mechanism. In my opinion there are way better options for much cheaper!

I looked at the Cryo series and ended up with second Zing instead. If I ever decide to buy a Cryo, it will be the G10 model. I think it is the best of all the Cryo offerings.

Looked at one in the store and toyed with it quite a bit. Chunky thing but i kinda like it. Don't know if i want one or not. I like the size but not the weight.

So the cryo will run you 25 off amazon

I have the cryo 2 which is slightly bigger but the same otherwise. Is it worth the money? yes. Its a good knife. It has great ergos and a great look. Its a big knife which i like. However there are a few issues with it that might be a deal breaker. For me, the blade has some play left and right. Not much at all but its there. The frame lock is not done well. For some reason kershaw never puts a cut out on the right side of the frame. This makes it much easier to push the frame over. The thumb studs are also completely useless. They are very stuby and placed in a weird way. They take sooo much pressure to push the knife up. Its also on the heavy side. But in my opinion its a good heavy. It feels solid and melts in my pocket but its still on the heavy side. Other than that i enjoy the knife. Its a cool and useful knife to have in the collection.

I liked the Cryo, definetly not a $35 knife though. They can be had for much less as mentioned above. I also agree that it was just too small for me, it wasn't comfortable in the hand. The Cryo 2 being the same knife but, a little bigger is a great knife and well worth the $30 or so they are going for.

got an email advert the other day from a vendor that has these. I just can't make myself pull the trigger on a Kershaw knife. No desire for a knife with 8Cr13MoV steel.

I bought one online without really taking note of the dimensions, and on arrival, I found it to be too small even though I don't have the big paws that some guys have. Mine is functionally perfect, and it gets a little pocket time, but hasn't secure a spot in my EDC rotation and probably never will. Maybe I'd find the Cryo 2 more to my liking, but it wouldn't add any capabilities or fill any gaps in the rotation, and really doesn't fit what I'm looking for from a collecting perspective.

If there was something with the general size and shape of the One Ton with the looks of the Cryo, that would be The Business.

Cryos are awesome knives. I carried one for a while and enjoyed it. Picked up a couple of G-10 versions and those are nice, as well.

I'll admit, they are a little short so it's not a 4 finger knife for some, but it's still a capable cutter.

The Thermite is also amazing for the money. You get a G10 scale stock, and the Hinderer Spanto blade which adds more steel at the tip to make it stronger.

If you like affordable flippers, I would also recommend the Kershaw Strobe. One hell of a nice knife for the money.

This would be my first foray into flippers. I'm used to antique lockbacks and traditional folders like the buck stockman

Had a cryo, liked the cryo, sold the cryo. As I've done with all the thin KAI knives I keep picking up, I love the way they look and carry, but do not like anything thinner than a delica for using.
