Kershaw Cryo?

Just got mine. Love it. Only wish was that the thumb stud also acted as the blade stop a la the 0560 for a little more stability. Looks like the Cryo II will have the thumb studs that way.

I just ordered one of these today. Can't wait to check it out. I'm usually one to purchase USA made only, for all of my knives, but I made an exception on this one as I really like the Hinderer design and the price is right. I figure, I can always give it away if I don't like it, but that probably won't happen.

jhamer9, I am usually the same way about sticking to the U.S.A. kershaws but I ordered one of these as a gift that came today. Granted I only played with it a little bit before packing it back up but I was so impressed I will definitely be picking one of these up for myself in the future. It really is a cool little knife.

That's good to hear. I figured if so many people are raving about them, it is definitely worth adding one to my small, but growing collection of Kershaw knives.

I too couldn't resist the little Cryo.
But, I also couldn't resist re-scaling it with a little Carbon Fiber...
I really liked what showed, up, but I love it now...

Had to keep it a flipper, so a little extra work.

I ordered a Cryo yesterday and it should be in my mailbox tomorrow. I am actually just starting to get in to better quality knives. I have owned an Emerson CQC-8 since Feb of last year but it was a gift from my grandfather who passed away a few months later. Until recently I just carried cheap $5-$15 knives on me. I was looking recently for a new better quality EDC blade. One that would stay functional through moderate to heavy daily use. I also didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on something that may get lost or broken.

I found the knife through a youtube review by Nutnfancy. Some of you may like him some of you may not be able to stand him. That is a different subject all together. Anyway, after watching this video for 2 minutes, I did something I never do. I made an impulse buy and purchased my cryo. Money is tight, I never spend money on anything I haven't reviewed for at the very least 2-3 weeks. I want the best bang for my buck.

Anyway I am super stoked for this knife to come in. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. Then I found this thread. after reading all 34 pages (670 posts) I knew I had made the right choice.

I wanted to post here and say thank you to everyone who has contributed. You have made me not only feel better about this purchase, but you have gotten me super excited for the mail to come tomorrow. lol.

You won't regret it, definately a nice little edc blade, and if something were to ever go wrong with it you will find kershaw's customer service is second to none.

I have a question, how much force do you need to use on the flipper to deploy the blade. The reason I ask is because I took the knife apart, wanted to see if I like it better without the torsion bar. I prefer the bar in place so I re assembled the knife and now I need to really flick the flipper to open where as before I had only needed to use a small amount of force for the blade to deploy. Now if I use little force the blade opens almost all the way.

Have you tried backing off the pivot screw just a tiny bit? If you have it snugged down too tight it will do that.

I guess that would depend on the pivot screw and the detent. A weak detent makes non assisted very difficult without a good wrist flick.
