Kershaw Cryo?

So you're asking for a "tweener." Something (cost and materials) that meets close to the middle between the Cryo and the ZT (0550 and 0560) knives?

Exactly, made in US with sandvik or maybe even s30v.

Edit: That knife below is one sexy mofo!

Probably going to be a few changes before production, but here you go.

Ti would be perfect.
The original article says 8cr steel for blade and handle (post #2). Does China do Ti for Kershaw?

I am getting one either way - and at least 2 if a Ti model becomes available as well

This is O/T but now that chart's got me wondering if that low rider clip shown for the Cryo will work on my ZT0350. The stock one chews up my pants and the Gavin Hawk DLC coated clip I got is not as easy to use as I'd like.

holes are much closer together on the standard ZT clip.

Hey Thomas, any chance on giving us a little preview of the Kurai and Funxion models?

Do those multi-tool style knives really sell well? I don't see many people around here buying them, but they may be a hit for the walmart crowd if that's where it is heading.

Definitely a lot of options there as far as cosmetic customization goes... That smooth frame has me wishing I still had access to a CNC mill to do some kind of texturing... Not even necessarily for more grip, just 'cause it would be cool to come up with and machine my own pattern... Thanks for the pics, Thomas.

Also, it looks like it has a pretty healthy sized ball-bearing in there for the detent. Should make for some excellent flipper action. I wonder what type of pivot washers they are going to run in this (nylon or bronze)?

^All the above is regarding the Cryo, not the Funxion, BTW...^

Does anyone else think it'd look better with a 3 way clip instead? Those holes up near the pivot look a bit out of place to me.

Could you not just remove the speed assist if you want a manual knife?

In any case, I'm quite excited for the Cryo to be released!
Will absolutely be picking one up!

Only thing I would change is to tuck the thumb studs into the front edge of the handle to help prevent side to side blade wiggle. If there is speed assist and a finger flip, it should be possible.

Good idea. The more blade stability the better. And, like you said, with a flipper it would be no big deal if it resulted in a slight increase in effort to deploy via the studs.

Also, regarding the speed assist: I believe the torsion bar can be removed from any of Kershaw's other SpeedSafe models (although some may not have detents), and it looks like the Cryo is going to have a good detent, so it should be no problem. I would expect, and hope, for the ability to remove the assist in the Cryo as well, only because of murky definitions in my local knife laws.
