Hello everyone, and RIP kershaw sub-forum.

About three weeks ago i sent away two of my kershaw knives and one of my dad's. They came back last Monday but i was on vacation so didn't get the till today. I sent away an NRG 2 folder which i paid wholsale for because my uncle works on a snap-on truck that distibutes kershaws it had a bent tip. I shot kershaw an email and they said they would replace the blade. and i sent away my E.T to be tightened and resharpened, i had messed it up on a bone. My dad sent his 1990's era L-Lock knife to just be refurbished. I was blown away by the job they did on the E.T and L-Lock. They perfectly redid the edge and tightened those tiny nuts (if anyone knows where to get a wrench for that please tell me). The l-lock's rubber grips were replaced and they even drilled and tapped pocket clip holes and put a clip on it!!

Where I get lost is that they said they would replace the blade in the NRG and i thought that was great. The sad part is, all they did was grind away the bent tip part (about 3/7 inch) and sharpen that. I opened it after i got it out of the package and thought, WTF? Is this normal? I really dont like the new look of the shorter blade, and it lost me almost half and inch of edge! They told me it would be replaced, but was turned into a stubby NRG:mad:.

Is there anything i can do? PLease help.:confused: Will post pics if requested.

Get back in touch with them and let them know you're not happy. They will make it right...they always do.

I just moved this from General Knife Discussion to FEEDBACK, a more appropriate forum for satisfaction issues.

I agree you should get in touch with Kershaw about sending it back. As you saw with the 2 others, they can be VERY cooperative. :)

As far as maintenance, I don't know what kind of screws they used, but I'd guess torx. You'd be best off waiting till someone can identify them better, or better yet, get a set of torx drivers in various sizes that you will find useful on many knives.

Be careful working with torx. They are like hex-with-tiny-points-added. And they can strip out easily, so press firmly and turn slowly.

Will be interested to hear what the response is the second go around. My guess is someone got their wires crossed and thought a regrind was being requested

The nuts are not actually torx. These are nuts, like you would put on the end of a bolt. Look up a picture of the e.t and you'll see. What i'm wondering about is the size, and if they even sell that size, i have been to many lowes and snap-on trucks looking.
