Kershaw/Emerson models in stock

One of the dealers at the gun show I to today has a couple for sale. I was not real impressed, but for the price point the product should sell.

Thankfully, KAI isn't using this ugly-ass clip on these:

I believe Emerson uses titanium liners on his models, so that will make it lighter (compared to steel). They also cost significantly more though.

There was a time when both liners were titanium, but now it's only the lock side.

Also, as suggested above the liners are not skeletonized (on these or real Emersons). These collabs are perfect project knives for anyone who wants something cheap and solid to tinker with, as others have mentioned.

Any word on when the 1k will be around? I know it's a pretty dumb question cause no one probably knows but hey I'm anxious ok? :)

I got the 8k, overall it's mediocre...came very dull and with a sloppy grind (edge was no a straight line on the sharpened side). The G-10 texture is pretty good and the knife has good overall ergos, the blade is just not impressive at all. I have tried the wave in a variety of pants (shorts, jeans, tac pants)and it works about 75% of the time. The Spyderco licensed wave works close to 100% of the time.

Good:
-Price
-Decent build overall/ergos
-Nice texture on the G-10
-Fairly light weight (for the size)

Bad:
-Poorly executed grind...really, how hard is it to correctly sharpen only one side of a piece of metal?
-Wave is too small, works about 75% of the time.
-Lanyard hole is laughably small, full 550 cord was a nonstarter, gutted 550 was just barely able to fit.
-Liners are pretty flimsy feeling.
-Plastic washers, PB would be nice.
-Tolerances aren't tight, mine actually got stuck OPEN yesterday, it took me 15 mins to get the liner lock to unlock.

For $35, I can't complain too much, I'm in the water a lot this time of year and this knife will serve that purpose until it rusts out. I will say that the knife helped me in one way: to see if I wanted to invest the money into a real Emerson based on the general design, I definitely do NOT.

Hmm I also have a spyderco wave and it works fantastically, and the wave on the Emerson Mini Commander did not work nearly as well or smoothly...I wonder how this will fare with the 0620...I am anxious for said knife but if the wave turns out to be crap I'll be severely disappointed.

I'm 90% sure the large thumb disk is what hinders the wave opening.

dude that is awesome! did you use the factory screws? where they long enough to still fit?

The screws were plenty long enough on the scale side. I'm not too impressed with their strength though, one on the lock side was stripped from the factory and I nearly stripped one on the scale side during the second reassembly. (See the silver on the first screw)

I had a similar problem with screw strength on my 8k. One of my screws got totally stripped and is apparently permanently a part of the standoff. Another standoff has a screw that won't come out from it either, but I managed to not strip it. I was pretty disappointed with that, but for <40 bucks I can't complain too much. I know KAI will send me more if I need them.

That makes sense...let's hope the bearing system can make it happen otherwise spydie wins the cake for best utilization of the wave feature....maybe the spyderhole is superior after all haha. I'm a big thumbstud guy so that means a lot coming from me.

Any idea when the 2K is going to ship folks? I've had it pre-ordered for a few months. All of these pictures aren't making my wait any easier.

Just got my 6k today. Not bad. Now I finally can test out the wave.... Oh wait! No I can't, because the screws are too short to switch the pocket clip to the left side.
I.

Am.

Annoyed...

If you're referring to the ZT0620, it will not have the KVT bearings. It will have washers.
