Kershaw launch 6 thoughts?

^^ Or if it's worth it to you, you can spend 8 to 10 minutes and change the spring.

This is an admittedly old thread, but just my two cents: My first 6 has been used regularly for the last two years. No problems then or now at all. I am not the hugest auto fan in the world, and I have regular folders that I feel are more rugged than this, but the knife just hasn’t given me any reason to complain. Actually, it’s become one of my favorite EDC knives! BladeHQ has the bronze and black 6 on sale right now for $79, so I ordered one and it seems to be just as good. Just a fun, well made (in my experience) knife to carry and use and I think both my blue and black and the bronze and black look super cool.

Also, my old one has been sharpened several times now, and I am satisfied with both the edge retention and the ease of touching up.

I have a couple launch 3s a 4 and a 7 and they only issue I have is with my purple launch 3. About 10% of the time I try to open it, the button gets stuck down so it doesn’t lockup. Kinda dangerous when u think it’s locked up and it folds on you. Probly won’t be buying any more autos, although the new launch 8 is pretty sweet looking.

Same issue with lock up, not a 6 though.. Good to know KAI sends replacement springs, will give that a shot, shipping autos is a pain..

Nope. Launches 1 & 3.....when they were first available. At that time only 1, 2 & 3 were available. Each blade had no spring tension past the half way point. I wasn't the only member experiencing it.
Maybe they changed it by now.
I know this is an old thread but I have to say that my launch 1, if I start from halfway deployed, does not have any spring tension. If I fire from closed it locks perfectly and I have not had any problems in use with mine failing. I just wanted to chime in that I can verify the no tension past halfway. Much like my speedsafe blur, except push button auto instead of thumbstud assist. I love both knives (my blur is a sprint run in cpm m4.)

I have one and dislike the side open. I see no point if you have to manually close it..defeats the purpose
