Kershaw Leek vs. Spyderco Endura 4

You've never owned a Spyderco before, but you like Kershaw's? And do you want to stay under a certain budget?
The answer is simple:
Buy a Tenacious. It will introduce you to Spyderco and leave you enough $$ for a Leek and an import Kershaw too. And if you like the feel and ergonomics of the Tenacious you can buy a more expensive model (like an Endura or Manix) later

When I first go into folders . The first knife I purchased was the leek . Based on 2 criteria, it was american made and it looked cool . It's a great light duty knife . The tip it super delicate . If your gonna use it for anything more that light duty ,I wouldn't recomend it . I agree with the others on the Delica or endura . But me personally I'm a big USA made kinda guy . My next knife was the manix 2 . That knife will take whatever you throw at it . One of the best bargains in my opinion . Full steel liners , great g 10 , rock solid ball bearing lock up , sweet 3.4 inch leaf shaped s 30v blade . You can find all that brand new for 80-100 dollars . Or if you go up to the 120.00 range . The paramilitary 2 has same features as manix . But takes it to the next level . It's lighter , slimmer profile , imo one of the most versital blade shapes . And easy one handed closing . To be honest the pm2 is all the knife I ever really need . But of coarse I don't leave it at that lmao ...

I have a Leek and a Delica. Between the two, the Delica is the better knife for most of my purposes.

I have both Spydercos a couple of Leeks. I really dislike the assisted opening of the Leek. It is super fast, but unneeded. I carried one tip up in a back pocket and darn near sliced my finger off while reaching for my billfold. Now ifI carry every my Damascus Leek I use the safety lock which totally destroys the practically of that knife. Nice small knife to open letters with the thin steel scales make it hard to hold on to and the G10 version I had was not well balanced in my hand.
If I were you I would look hard at a Delica which is really a good option, and a great intro into the Spyderco lineup.

The Delica is about the same handle size as the Leek. The Delica is a better knife and has a more reliable lock. If you want to spend a bit more the Caly 3 is very nice, too, and the same size.
