Kershaw OD1 - I'm in love..

Glad you're enjoyin' it. It's a great little folder and totally fits the bill for those who love the ergos and feel of the Leek but prefer not to have assisted opening:thumbup:

Any tips on making custom scales - I've been itching to try ever since seeing your work! The hardest part would appear to be exactly lining up the screws - how do you do it?

Never made one, but I'm guessing use old one as a template. You drill the hole through the g10 to the scale.

great knife for the money

Oooo I believe I just got it... They all have that lock stabilizer but on most you just cannot see it because it is behind the pocket clip?? I googled it and none of the pictures I saw had it. So do all OD1 models have the hinderer stabilizer or just a certain model?

Yes, all of the OD-1s have the stabilizer. You can see the stabilizer on the pictures on the first page because the OP modified his pocket clip by shortening it. Normally the clip is covering you from seeing it, like you said.

excellent that is a very cool feature for a knife of that price. Thats it..! You talked me into getting one!! haha

Cool-looking little knife. If they'd make it with a 4" blade or so, I'd buy it for sure. Now it's just way too small.

You know, I just noticed that the OD-1 has the Hinderer stop, and the ZT clip. Perhaps it was it originally going to be a ZT release?

As much as I agree your logic, I doubt it. ZTs are designed to go through hell and back and write home about it.
I think they used the Hinderer because it's a slick device, and used the ZT clip because it's the perfect clip once it's bent out a bit. I wouldn't mind a ZT Od-3 though...
Fatty Ti frame lock, S30V FFG or high hollow grind 3.75" blade so it can be a slicer (think perfect cardboard cutting knife), and the Od flipper system if it could work on a blade of that size and weight. Anybody want to second that idea?

Having never held one - how does the handle do as far as preventing slippage towards the blade? Seems like there's not much to hold onto or keep your digits from pushing forward :\

I havent had any issues with grip or with my fingers sliding forward. For everything that I use mine for, I think the g10 scale provides enough grip to keep your fingers in place.
