Kershaw Piston..This knife is Awesome

Well I spoke to Soon! It doesn't have a lanyard Hole but it has a small pin on end of the handle that you can run one through.. I didn't notice it until now haha..
Well this is about my favorite knife now!

Whoa, I had no idea it was such a big knife!

Can you tell if it has a detent hole in the blade? I have been thinking about getting one and am wondering how it would function as a manual.

No sir, it does not. Of the three new US models they released in 2012, only the Echelon has a detent hole. The Piston and Knockout don't... :(

We need a petition for detent holes in all US models. I greatly prefer an option to remove the torsion bar without having to void the warranty drilling my own. :(

I was on the fence about getting one of these. After your review and pics it just went on my To Get List. Thanks.

Is that stuff about the handle feeling cheap because it's only G10 just hearsay? Also, how does the lock thickness look? I'm trying to conceive of tasks you would put a large but light knife to...

I just sent Dave some monies for one. Can't wait to compare it to the Knockout.

I got an Echelon as an early Xmas present but it went right back. Just was not for me and a lot smaller than I thought.

Thanks for the photos. I'm carrying my Piston right now. A few notes:
-As mentioned earlier, the Skyline, Rake, and ZT pocket clips are interchangeable with the Piston's. The Blitz' clip will also fit, albeit at a slight angle.
-The stone washed finish on my Piston started getting some rust specks from normal use, so I took the knife apart and polished the blade with 0000 steel wool and simichrome polish. It looks nicer now and doesn't rust.
-I found the flipper to be too smooth, so a quick pass with the Dremel produced a groove (just one jimping= jimp?) for my finger to grab onto.
-If you take the torsion bar out, you can use the Piston as a manual knife. Tighten the handle screws down, put some blue Locktite on the pivot pin screw. Tighten it all the way to get the Locktite in there, then back it off slowly. You want a good balance of deployment speed, handle retention, and blade wiggle. If it's too tight or has too much wiggle, you can back the handle screw - the one closest to the pivot pin - off a bit and try again. If it just won't work, you can always put the torsion bar back in. Remember that even if you're using the knife as a manual folder, the torsion bar plate needs to be in there. You can carry the de-assisted Piston tip-up safely.
-If you want to add a lanyard, the lanyard tab is a pain in the rear to thread 550 cord (especially gutted and doubled-over, like most lanyards) on to. I just took the top scale off and dropped the lanyard on the post, then reassembled.

I'd love a G-10 Knockout.

Squashfan: your Knockout has XXXX on the blade. Surely, you don't want a blem ruining the fun for your non-blem Piston. You should send it to me.

= insert nutnfancy comment/derogatory term/bull**** here ______________

Anyway, yeah i got the same feeling when i handled one at my local knife shop. There are way to many flippers out there that are to smooth, which makes them harder to flip. All it really takes for them to do is to put one notch/"jimp" and many flippers would be ALOT better

The Piston is nice. It took me forever to find one, but I got one last December. I'll say one thing, that knife would be the perfect platform for some composite blades.

Anyone have any comparison pics of the width of the Piston compaired to other knives?
