Defiantly more "collector" geared than even the ZT LEs, I'll pass personally, I'm willing to carry the ZT LEs, this not so much...

Here's a copy of the emailed announcement for Kershaw 4040 Ruby to go on sale on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 6PM Pacific Time.

It'll hold its value, but it probably won't appreciate as far as the 0454 or 0777.

With a solid black blade and no text/lines on the handle, IMO it would have been a winner.

The text would have been better on the clip, and they could have done a backspacer instead of standoffs if they needed more real estate to engrave on.

Solid design and great steel... but way to busy for me with all the engravings and such. This is really geared towards the Kershaw super fans.

Hmm, I love the looks of this:

But I'm having a hard time with this:

I'd have to agree with others, it would be more appealing with blade enhancements or scale modifications.

I wouldn't be happy to receive it as a gift. That is one ugly knife. (Own and love plenty of KAI products).

I think this will be a tough proposition. I am sincerely hoping flippers will give this one some strong thought. You might be stuck with your $400 knife awhile. LOL

Definitely a polarizing design on the non-lock side with the showcase anniversary billboard.

Will it become like the ZT 0600/0600BLK where it didn't appreciate in price?

The graphics are like those cheesy tribal/barbed wire tattoos. I get the concept of a wall hanger anniversary piece, but sheesh, should have toned it down a notch.

NOT TRYING TO START DRAMA: I would love to know how many of these will be available on the 13th, just so I can get an idea of how easy it will be to attain one of these. The 0454 was in very high demand and there weren't many made, so it was kind of a rat race. I wonder if there's more of these?

If the 25th Anniversary is an indicator, these will be hard to find in the near future.

The review I've seen looks pretty nice. Thin ZDP, light Ti framelock.

Cut Kershaw some slack for branding an anniversary knife....everyone does that. Derp derps.

Maybe that's why I don't own any anniversary knives . . . derp derps. I don't know if I'm buying a knife or a billboard.
