Looks like someone needs to read the "sticky" at the top of that other forum. The one that is locked.

Not cool.:thumbdn:

Totally my fault for not knowing the rules and not reading the sticky. I apologize that this happened and you can count on it never happening from me again.

The hilarious thing about this "other forum" is that, even though I know it must exist, I cannot find it. They are so paranoid that their super-secret information might escape the confines of their private little internet, that they don't exist in any search engines. Awesome business model. LOL.

Back on topic - to those who were lucky enough to handle a Ruby in person - what was the detent like? And is the only option for a lanyard to tie it around the last standoff?

Excellent sarcasm. LOL

What happens on another forum, in most cases, is of ZERO concern here. I asked it be dropped but apparently I wasn't clear enough.

Nicely shaped knife but that scale with the huge kershaw printed on it is ugly in my opinion. Too bad Ill pass on this one

I'm sure it's well made and the materials are nice, but I have plenty of "nice slicers", if I'm gonna shell out $400 for a limited run knife, I'd rather it look nice and not look like a gas station knife with premium materials. I'm sure they'll have no trouble selling them, but they won't be selling one to me, even at half that price.

Hey, it's working!

No - The clearance between the large standoff and the blade edge is too tight to allow for a lanyard in my opinion.

The detent on the ones that I have had a chance to coon-finger is firm, and the thinner blade profile and subsequent flipper lever makes it more apparent on your finger.

They flipped like a champ though - with the thinner blade it really shoots out quickly.

On the topic of the styling, the styling is reminiscent of an older military aircraft, with the pivot looking like a star or cross etc, and the swoopy lines being panel lines etc.

It definitely grows on you the more you look at it, at least it does for me.

It would be cool to get number 40.....

best

I'm glad you gents are put off by it. I have a better chance now!

All the info, pictures, and videos I have seen along with holding one was all I needed to know it's a great knife and I'll be trying my damnedest to pick one up.

Congrats Kershaw for 40 good years.

How can you verify the actual number of knives produced when a company stamps 1 of 500 on ALL of them?? For all you know they could have produced 5000 and know one would know any different.

I like the fact that KAI / ZT stamps an actual sequential number on their LE's.

The issue of them not releasing numbers is not of consequence to me.

i have to say, i thought that was a $250 max knife. i like it, but i don't $400 like it.

Kai gettin' smart. They could sell at a nice profit at $250 and watch them snatched up by high speed gamers who immediately resell on the bay for $400. Why not start at four bills and pocket the extra scratch? The end collectors pay the same but the middle man gets cut out. Well played, Kershaw!

I bet they are just random numbers, just to piss everyone off >: |

Id rather pay the good guys at KAI than the hoarders with all the tricks (and connections) any day. Yes, even if it means that no one including me gets a shot at the few dealers that price them to our benefit. Nothing they do is perfect and will please everyone, but it is fair. Remember those ridiculous sale threads on the exchange from individuals selling four or five at a time at wild prices anyway? Yeah no more of that ;)

Kershaw has mentioned in the past that they don't make a huge profit on the LE knives. Its done more for the collectors.

But yet clueless people continue to post..... Oh the joy of posters who hide behind their anonymity of the internet. :disillusionment:

Overreact much? Since you mentioned it though a definition of clueless would be those who couldn't make a serious profit on that knife at $250.
