Kershaw Skyline 1760BLBW

Looks cool, but not $35 more cool. It actually makes me mad that Kershaw is so bland when it comes to G10.

Don't blame Kershaw for the price. MSRP on the 1760 is 74.95. MSRP on 1760BW is 79.95 and 1760BLBW is 84.95.

Why should Blade HQ got to MAP when they have a rare exclusive?

What would you like to see them do with G10? Follow the Hogue and Benchmade 300sn with the layered G10 so everyone can make fun of them too?

Silly silly comment.

So is this the most limited Skyline yet?

I think the most limited was the blue stonewashed one (BLSW) at around 64 made. I think there was also a digi-camo one that had even fewer, but I believe they were just some demo/prototypes that made it into the wild.

Yeah only one or two camo and ducks......i dont count them towards collection im working on.

I think it looks great, there are so many versions that would be cool of the Skyline or even fixed skyline. The price is ok for the knife.

Don't forget both the black handled and orange handled fixed blades. Then the first production run labeled 1 of 500 on the blade, and if you really want to chase the dream the ducks unlimited and digicam prototype.

True, but I'll consider my collection complete when I have one of every 1760 model. The fixed blades are a different model completely and the first prods, ducks, and protos are just special versions of 1760.

I believe that it is out of stock. However, the black one was not a limited run. I think that the orange one might have been a limited edition.

It is possible to find them used, however.

Well I'll keep a look out for one. Did bladehq send you an email after you ordered your blue skyline?

Howdy fellas, I think I may have gotten the last one (ordered last night) cuz right after my order went thru and the page refreshed it say "SOLD OUT" :P
Now I'm thinking about trying to pick up a Red Skyline and swapping the blades.

I realize this would be messing a bit with the collectability of the knife as I would be putting a "1760BLBW" blade onto the G10 from either "1760RDSO" or "1760RD", but I'm a sucker for some red & black.

Thoughts...?

As for the increased cost, I've come to accept it.
I picked up my first Skyline for $19 at Wal-Mart in 2008, and since then (call it "the Nutnfancy effect") the price has almost doubled pretty much everywhere you look.

So I see it as paying $20 extra for the limited edition of a knife a love, and that's not so bad when I think of it like that.
But it did take me a while to get used to thinking of the Skyline as a $45 knife and not a $19 knife.

For those keeping track, here's an updated list of Skyline models:

1760
1760BW
1760DAM
1760CKT
1760BRNCKT
1760OR
1760RD
1760RDSO
1760RDSW
1760BLSW
1760BFC
1760BLBW

I'm just missing 1760BLSW and 1760RD. Someday I'll have them all.

Don't forget the fixed blades:

1084 (Stonewash, black G10 handles)
1084OR (Stonewash, orange G10 handles)

Call it the 'it's a fantastic knife effect'. Don't mention that tacticool, full of himself, chinese knock off endorsing piece of scum on here.

I have a red Skyline, when my BLBW arrives I'll swap the blades and let you know how it looks with pics.

YIKES!
Such a polarizing figure. I wasn't endorsing the dude, I was just saying I believe his review of the Skyline, with it's quarter million views, has sold a ton of Skylines for Kershaw and is at least partially responsible for the rise in popularity and price.
