Call it the 'it's a fantastic knife effect'. Don't mention that tacticool, full of himself, chinese knock off endorsing piece of scum on here.
YIKES!
Such a polarizing figure. I wasn't endorsing the dude, I was just saying I believe his review of the Skyline, with it's quarter million views, has sold a ton of Skylines for Kershaw and is at least partially responsible for the rise in popularity and price.
1) 168,000 views is not a quarter million.
2) views on Youtube are not to unique users. If you watch it 10 times, or watch half and go back and watch the second half, it adds to the views.
3) The video only has 1,500 likes.
4) The video is three years old
5) even if 1 out of every 10 viewers (probably much much much less than that) bought a Skyline solely because of his video that's 16,000 knives sold in three years. That's probably a very small fraction of total Skyline production in that time.
6) Thomas W has stated publicly that the rise in price of the Skyline and other models is based SOLELY on materials costs.
7) The 1760 BLBW MSRP is only $10 more than the standard Skyline. Just because Blade HQ didn't sell them for MAP doesn't mean the are significantly more expensive.
