Kershaw to Offer Re-Blading for $10! ZT for $30!

Sounds like "when stuff happens" will be happening to you quite a bit based off the things you do to your blades.

Haha exactly. That's why I appreciate blade replacements for a fee. I like tinkering and testing, sometimes that ends up with damage.

Is it possible to just order/buy blades from Kershaw and fix them myself? I have a couple of Leeks that need new blades (broken tip, mangled serrations). They're both serrated blades, and I'd like to replace them with plain edge blades.

I would guess they want you to send them in to prevent abuse of the policy. I haven't bothered to look but it is probably in with the other info and details.

Here's the deal: If you accidentally break your Kershaw folding knife's blade—or commit some other heinous, yet accidental, act on it—we can replace your knife's blade for you and return it in good working order for just $10.

Yep, just $10 for any Kershaw folding knife. That includes Blade Traders.

Simply send your knife in to us according to warranty instructions. We'll replace the blade for you, spruce up your knife, and return it to you. Please note that we cannot replace fixed blade knives under this program.

Says you have to send it in but you could call and ask. I don't think they want to ship blades out though.

Question: Will the re-blade a knife sent in with the same blade/steel that the knife originally came with? I have a pretty well used S30v leek that I sent to them a while back after the torsion bar failed. I'd broken the tip off the blade, and explained that I just wanted the torsion bar replaced, as the broken tip was due to my negligence. When the knife came back, I'm sure about the only original parts left were the clip and the scales! :) I was most impressed.

I am not complaining in any way, but the blade they replaced the original with was unmarked, and I am pretty sure it is not S30v. Relatively soft steel in comparison. Just curious.

Im wondering this to but on there LE blades like the 0560 CBCF will they replace the S110V blades.

The s30v leek is discontinued so they probably replaced it with 14c28n.

It's pretty much accepted that LEs won't have spare parts available.

It's understandable that the LEs won't be included in the $30. What happens if one breaks from normal use and the user contacts Kershaw for a warranty claim? Do they just get a credit for the value of the LE? I would think they would try to make some extra LE blades for warranty claims.

I'd imagine they'd just replace it with a standard blade. If you broke your 0560CBCF, for example, you'd probably get an Elmax blade.

I'm torn on whether or not to send in one of my Leeks that has a broken tip. It's supposedly one of the rarest - 1660CGTST, with only 128 made. :(

i apologize if i overlooked a post and this has already been answered, but does anyone know if they'll replace the blades on the 'made in china' folders (clash, cryo, etc.)

They won't replace the blade, but rather the entire knife for the $10.

I have actually used them to upgrade my damaged blade from the standard Leek blade into the S30V blade for $25. Such a fantastic customer service.
