Kershaw Trivia , Knife Giveaway

I hear ya kershawguy, that's why I was waiting to see. I had also seen the Italy name in some of my searches.

I just think it's fun learning the history of Kershaw.:D

Thanks for the great history lessons, keep them coming.:)

This is my 100th post on the forum and I get to thank kershawguy for for running this great trivia contest!

Looks like the questions are getting tougher already!

Taiwan would have been my first guess and Sweden my next guess.
For some reason though, I vaguely remembered some Italian Kershaws. I had no idea of the name of the series until I saw Maniago on a list somewhere. Since Maniago is a town in Italy known for knives I figured that had to be it.

Its weird the stuff that sticks in your head, I have no idea where I read that Kershaw had ever had knives made in Italy.

Thanks again Dave!

Congrats on your win. Thanks again to kershawguy for the chance.
This pretty cool of you.

The knives I mentioned that were made in Germany sure would be nice to have.

Hey Kershaw Fans -It's great to see a Kershaw Forum, thanks to all that made it happen.

Well Dave has turned "Me" into a sort of Kershaw Guy and now I'm buying more knives :) much to the wifes chagrin

Questions are easy, the answers are the hard part

This weeks trivia question will be harder, but very important to point out IMHO. I will be posting the question in about a half hour from now. Winner will recieve a mod# 2605 (pictured in this thread). Good Luck !!

i must redeem myself!

I received last weeks prize today!
The knife is way bigger than it seemed in the photo. (Which was silly since I knew exactly how big the box in the picture was.)
Really nice.
Thanks again Dave!

Hey Guys , SORRY , I had this ready before I took my wife out for dinner and I spaced it ! Here it is Guys: When Pete Kershaw started Kershaw knives in 1974 he had a Mission statement, ( a very good one I might add) the person that can quote it the closest wins the knife. If no one nails it verbatim I will pick the winner based on the facts you have supplied. What I am looking for is an actual quote of his words. Good Luck !

Dave

"to design and manufacture tools that knife users would be proud to own, carry, and use."

maybe?

"to design and manufature the best knives for those who want the best"

or "to manufature tools and knives that customers would be proud to own, use, and carry."

or "to design and manufacture the best knives and tools for those that want the best."

"to design and manufature the best knives for those who want the best"

or "to manufature tools and knives that customers would be proud to own, use, and carry."

or "to design and manufacture the best knives and tools for those that want the best."

Nothing quite like the shotgun approach! :D

maybe a little bit longer:

"to design and manufacture tools that knife users would be proud to own, carry, and use. Extremely tight tolerances and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques ensure that Kershsaw Knives and tools provide a lifetime of performance."

or

"to produce knives of high quality and value with a no-hassle lifetime guarantee"

or

"To continue our committment to quality, expand our innovative designs, and provide value to our customers"

"to produce knives of high quality and value with a no-hassle lifetime guarantee"

This weeks winner is evillama, he covered the main part with the above quote. The mission statement as I call it, is on the inside of the front cover of most of the older Kershaw catalogs.

Pete said : "In 1974 , we set out to do some innovative things in the cutlery business without compromising quality for volume. We backed our products with a no-hassle, no-time limit guarantee. These principles haven't changed through the years.
We can offer such a strong guarantee only because of our tough quality controls all along the way, and our policy of sending our customers only what we ourselves would buy.
I see a great part of the satisfaction of our efforts in the mail we recieve from users of Kershaw knives-letter after letter thanking us for service that isn't generally found these days and a product that exceeded their expectations.
You can be sure that every knife branded "Kershaw" is the best that's made .. You've got my name on it. "

Pete Kershaw

That statement holds true today over thirty years later , still offering great products, great service and a no- hassle , lifetime warranty. In this world in which we live , I find that amazing, don't you ???
