Kershaw Trivia , Knife Giveaway

I am absolutely hooked. Unfortunately, I do not know enough about Kershaw's history- so I doubt I will ever win. But I can certainly tell you about the future of this great knife making company after my first purchase last week of a Spec Bump S30V- AWESOME! Even my wife, who wonders why I would spend +$100 on a "pocket knife" even had to admit how cool it was (I caught her playing with the AO feature !!!). Now I spend most of my weekend reading the posts and planning my next purchase.

basspro. i know very little. all i do is just dig a lil on the net and see what i can get. if you can do it quick enough, you can prolly win. dont give up!
 
This is really cool i am now hook on this forum i am really new to collecting knifes fixed blade and folding knifes. Really new to kershaw too. Hope to learn more about knifes and collecting. sent email to you Thanks Dave/kershawguy
 
In 1985 I took my first Kershaw Knife (that I had purchased a few years earlier ) to a man that lived part time in Carmel, Ca. and part time in Bequia ( west indies) . He scrimshawed a wood duck on it for me. I had seen his work in gift shops on the Oregon coast and always admired his work , but could never afford the knives. He used Kershaw knives in those days. even though he wasn't commissioned by Kershaw and later had his own signature knives made by Kai. I had the wonderful opportunity to again visit this wonderful artist and his wife at their home in Carmel last week. He must be nearly 80 and still does his scrimshaw in his studio overlooking the beautiful pacific coastline of Carmel. He told me many stories about the people he had met over the years in the Islands and showed me many pieces of art and knives that he had done and others he had collected over the years. Needless to say it was a highlight in the trip for me, even better than " The tower of Terror" which was awesome !! Anyway to our question for the week. Kershaw commissioned several artists over the years to do scrimshaw on bone handled knives, Name the two main ones in the 80's and 90's and win a minted honker knife. One guess per day per person and if the first person to post the names I am looking for can also Identify the person I visited in Carmel I will send you a new Kershaw Steven Seagal knife instead. Kingshoc , thanks for your guess but you can only win once every 60 days on this one and you are already a winner, isn't it nice to be a winner ?

Congratulations Blade06 you are correct. Now if you can reply with the name of the person I visited in Carmel, I will send you a Seagal instead of the Minted Honker Knife. A Druid while Linda Karst did do some work for Kershaw, it was limited and she wasn't one of the two I was looking for. Thanks

hey Dave. i just my knife in the mail today, and this is the first time i have had a chance to post about it. it is a beautiful little knife, and sharp as all get out! i love it. its now on my "too cute" list lol. thanks again for the contest!

Got my knife in the mail today - it's sharp and the handle is contoured just right for me. Thanks again Dave for your generosity! Good luck to everyone on the next trivia question!
