Kershaw vs. Spyderco

this is ur chance to either stick up for ur company or bash someone else's

winner takes all

Kershaw and spyderco are two of the top production knife companies, the only difference I see is design. They both produce top quality products.

Yeah, this is a variant of the tired old "if you were at the end of civilization and you only had one knife what would it be and why" threads.

Search around the site jmark, there have already been a lot of threads on favorite knives, and why they hold that position.

I'm pretty sure this is where someone tells you to get a Sebenza.

All good, just different. I dislike recurves, AO and flippers; my friend swears by them.

The winner and still heavyweight champion!!! The Great Spyder Factory!!! :D

Hey I ain't got nothing against Kershaw blades but Spyderco is just head and shoulders ahead of them in many sectors of the market. Not to mention the quality of their heat treatments, having the very best serrations on the planet and also having the best selections of premium handle materials.

Not to mention that they are the undisputed king of Hawkbill blades!!

Oh did I mention their super sharpening equipment? And their customer service is the very best barr none. Sal Glesser for President!!!! :D

My 2 cents... I don't really like flippers, liner locks, or assisted opening so that cuts out a large majority of Kershaws, I like a lot of Spyderco's designs, but I like and respect both as a company because of how they back up their products, I am however excited about the Kershaw Speedform coming out soon, it will probably be my first Kershaw and I'm on the list for the G10/Ti CPM-M4 Military.

Is this the question the Troll asks you before you can cross his bridge?

Sebenza it is.

I own lotsa Kershaws and Spydies (too many for two hands) and I'd end up with the Spydie as a winner.

Kershaw has helluva lots of choices/types/styles but as a pure cutter I'd go for my Manix, for swimming and cutting I'd go for the salt, for great ergos and good steel I'd go for my poliwog and the list goes on.

Don't get me wrong, love Kershaws too but ever since my JYD2 with it's bead blasted blade started having little rust spots even at the slightest gaze I was kinda disappointed.

Also I like the Spydie subforum, a chance for discussion and sharing of ideas/opinions/criticism. Kershaw subforum was terminated, though with reasons but in effect I see a reduction of customer-to-company relationship. Pity, it was good.

You just have to know where to look my man. Just cuz it ain't here anymore doesn't mean it's not around. Customer to company relationship is still solid as rock.

Both companies win. I can't think of many folks on these boards that don't own something from both of them. ;)
