0 017 , the lock up is fine. My blackwash 0456 is about the same. I like the blackwash because it hides usage wear better than the standard version. I don't care for the blue pivot on the standard.

Zt 0393 I wasnt feeling all the blue ano so I sanded the ti scales except for the jimping. What a great knife.


Zt 0456 with micarta scale. I wish I hadnt waited so long to try one of these out. I picked the knife and scale up from whitty what a great dealer!

Loved the 456 but that weight killed the deal. Now, if they made one with CF or Micarta 8 would buy one in a heart beat. No more over 5oz knives in my life, but that blade is sweet.

Oh, and I agree that pivot is pitiful.

I kinda sorta regret not buying the standard version. Then again, if I bought the standard one, I'd regret not buying the blackwash variant...

I think you chose well. ZT does one of the best looking blackwash finishes. I like this variant over the standard as the bright blue accents don't resonate with me. The backwashed handle and black hardware is what I like best. As for the blade, you might want to look into custom modder Josh at Razor Edge Knives. He can remove the black and put on a factory looking satin finish, then you would have the best of both worlds. Anyway that's what I would do.

I'm actually very happy with the Blackwash. My comment was meant to illustrate how I always regret not going with the other option. You know, the grass is always greener...

What I truly do regret, is getting to the ZT party so late. I always dismissed flippers, so I never paid much attention to ZT. As a result of my foolishness, I've discovered that I really want an 0804CF. But alas, they're now discontinued.

Keep your eyes on the exchange, they do come up for sale. You can also post in the Want to buy forum.
