That was one of two Factory Custom series 0450s.

They sport scales that were sent to Dmitry Sinkevich, who machined them with the beautiful patterns, and they also had Dima's custom pivot hardware and pocket clips.

The other one was the FCDAM with Vegas Forge Damascus.

Knife looks great but ZT has been losing me with their clips lately. I really really really want to pull the trigger on the 0203cf though but have bought way too many knives the last few months….
 
Yes, that 0203CF was on my want list, but couldn't do it . They are already sold out at some places.

This 0117 is under two ounces. It didn't feel like there was a knife in the box.

The clip works fine , it is the style that fits into a slot and goes between the barrel spacer and the scale in which it nestles.

Works just fine, especially on these super light knives.

I do wish Kai would offer accessory clips in different finishes like Emerson so we could "factory customize" our knives.

The text on the 0117 clip is so small I can't imagine what someone would be doing to get close enough to your pocket with their eyes to read it.

Below is the 0117 next to an Emerson EX-100 with an accessory deep carry clip from EK.

You don't try to figure out what type of pocket knife someone else is carrying? I can picture someone kneeling down to examine the pocket clip.... 🤣



The Blur tiger stripe finish is different from the other two. Definitely feels like a paint of some sort - you can feel the transitions. The others seem more like dlc. Also the tanto blade doesn't have the typical transition grind. Just the edge is profiled into the shape. I don't think I've seen another tanto blade like that.

That Blur looks kinda funky. I don't have a tanto to compare it to, I just compared it to my black drop point Blur though and the hardware and whole handle looks legit, but that blade is funky. Maybe someone bead blasted it and then painted the blade, I don't know. Nice knives though!

It seems legit to me. It came from a reputable dealer. Looking at other Blurs with a tanto, the grind looks the same. I did read an account somewhere that that you could feel the transitions of the stripes so I'm a certain it isn't the only one.

Supposedly the tiger stripe is made by doing the dlc first, then bead blasting the stripes. Must be a cheaper coating.

Dammit. I bought the 0203cf……*sigh*

It will pair nicely with my 0308cf I guess…..pics to follow lol

Yeah I compared the grinds too and think the same.

Yeah not sure, that makes sense on blasting the stripes after DLC, maybe they used a finer blasting media as well.
