Hey all Bel Air owners!

Just got my first one. Have other Kershaw and ZT Duralock knives (0203CF, Bareknuckle etc).

Question is - lock stick

This new Bel Air’s got it bad. I read a ton of owner reviews and a few mentioned lock stick.

Is this a common thing with the Bel Airs? Does it break-in and go away? I’m well familiar with lock stick on frame-locks and typically just return the knife instead of trying to fix it - many times it cannot be fixed, but I don’t have enough long-term experience with Duralock yet.

Try to break it in or send it back? It locks so bad it takes both fingers pulling hard to release it from the open position.

I’d say send it back, I’ve got three and haven’t had any issues with lock stick, two I’ve gotten from Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley and they’re spot on. The third was new and haven’t had any issues with it.

I picked up a Micarta one and the stop pin rattled, back it went. Otherwise great knife.
 
I have 3 more different flavors of the Bel Air on their way in the mail. Hopefully it’s just this one that has the stick.

The Bareknuckle is freakin AWESOME btw. They need to release a bunch more colors.

I haven't had any Bel Air with lock stick.

The lockbar on the Damascus one would slightly "stick" in the locked position when flicked open really hard, but cleaned up after a few hard flicks.

Hope they can take care of yours for you.

I hardly need another knife but I do like the way that looks, not as tall as the 0308 and I'd like to see how ZT does the cross bar lock.

Well I can tell you that the duralock omega springs are far too weak for how heavy the blade is. And its prone to lock stick I returned mine within 1 day of owning it. These larger blades need a coil spring like the microtech ram-loks

Not a hint of lock-stick on my 0203CF luckily, unlike the Bel Air I sent back yesterday.

I may have just gotten a dud on the lock stick cross bars are highly susceptible to it. The springs are too weak period, the blade had so much "detent lash" when closed which I can not stand. Also my blade came dull af like would barely catch a fingernail. ZT fd up on the one I got bad.
 
Anyone gotten the new Barenuckle DL? I was looking for a new folder with a crossbar lock and saw it. Ended up picking one up. Should be here Saturday.
 
Got a bare knuckle few weeks ago. It’s kicks major ass. You’re going to love it. We need more colors!
 
So what Limited Edition ZT and Kershaw’s are coming out? Would love to see more color choices on the Bel Air XL (I’m not a Tiger Stripe guy, so that one is out.)

Need a CF or aluminum Bel Air XL and maybe some more Iridium Duralock options. Black Micarta Iridium Duralock?
