Hi all,

I was just wondering what you have or recommend on your keyrings ? Which LED's, tools do you have ? At the moment I have:

- white Photon
- SAK Midnight Manager

I believe the LM Micra is highly thought of. Any others you feel deserve attention.

Thanks

well, at the moment I have a Photon II, Photon III, AAA Arclight, Ice blue Glowring, a SpyCapsule, and a wad of keys. BTW, I have a Big keyring!

Shannon

I have a green glowring, a red P3, a turq ArcAAA, & a couple of keys.
No idea what the keys do - just an excuse to carry a few mini-lights!

I used to carry alot of stuff on my keyring, photon, asp sapphire, swiss army clssic,LM micra and about 11 keys.I got tired of looking like i had a tumor growing in my pocket,so now,all i carry on my keyring is my 11 keys.

Grnamin,
I had an Emissive Energy (?) LED like that until PhotonII can along (I found the PII constant-on switch useful, and I found Photons more water-resistant)
I've also got one of those mini-multitools, although I don't carry it.
I like it, but I carry a Supertool 200.

Do you find you use the mini-multitool much?

Al

I have the SwissTech Utilikey, Victorinox Executive and a AAA Arclight on my keyring. I use a small carabiner style chrome ring that I purchased at Lowes.

Someone at some point mentioned that car ignition mechanisms are not designed to hold a lot of weight (stupid, right?), and so problems can be caused by having key rings that are too heavy. I'll just mention that, I have no idea if it's true.

The main reason I don't have too much on my keyring is because it gets too heavy, and if I want to carry a bunch of do-dads, I'd rather spread them out. I carry my Kershaw Chive in my watch pocket, for example. Right now, the only thing on my keyring is my Arc LE.

True. If you look at the pic in grnamin's post there's a clip. I use one of these, keep all the keys and gadgets (photon 2, L-Man micra) on one ring, with the car key on a seperate ring clipped to the main ring (I hope this makes sense). Get to the car, un-clip the car key and leave all the other junk attatched to belt loop with a small carabiner. Works great.

Likewise. I often carry several items intended for keychains, but just put them in loose. This lets me reduce the weight and bulk in one pocket. Also, I often need to use them together, which is handier if they are already disconnected. On the other hand, it bothers some folks to have a bunch of loose stuff rattling around in their pockets.

Today, I have a Photon II on my keychain, and an Arc light and LM Micra separate.

I have a Photon II, green Glowring, Leatherman Micra(in Normark Sheath), and KEYS:eek:

On my keyring I have a blue glowring and a utilikey. I keep a PII attached toa SAK Spartan in the same pocket.

Got a purple traser glow ring, Spyderco Jester, and a white Photon II. In my pockets, there is an LM Mini Tool, Spydie Dyad Jr Lightweight, and other stuff.

Thanks for all your replies. By the way, what is a glowring ? If any of you have any more info or URL's, I'd appreciate it. Also, I've considered getting a LM Micra but heard that the scissors aren't as good as on the Vic's ??

Woody...Having both a Photon and Arc AAA does sounds overkill, do you use both ??

I Carry:
Small Swiss Army Classic Knife
Boy Scout Hot Spark (firestarter)
Army Can Opener
Photon II (red LED)
Harley Key
Car Key
House Key

Al, the Inova I have on my keychain has a constant-on switch on the back side. The package said it was a new feature on the light. I use the Sebertech M4 just about everyday at work (network/computer support). Joe, I guess I'm safe 'cuz I don't have a car, but that's worth keeping in mind if I do get one eventually. Thanks.

I have a Photon II, a Micra, and an Underwater Kinetics 2AAA light on mine, but the "key" to the arrangement is an executive size ASP Defender, which is a kubotan-like deal with a pepper spray canister inside and a safety lock. It not only lets my keys function as a kubotan, a flail, and a pepper spray, but also lets me carry my keys by sticking the baton in my waistband and letting them dangle.

I have also backed off on keeping too much attached to my keys. The only non-keys are a Photon II and a Swiss-Tech Utili-Key. They are only backups for my Arc AAA LE and my various multi-tools, but I like to have a light and a tool where I will never be without them.

tardis, the leatherman micra is nice, but i would very much suggest that you get a sog crosscut instead. they seem generally better made. I carry just one key permanently attached to the rf for my car, i took a screw and threaded it through the attachment point for the rf and passed it through the key. that way i have the smallest possible package for my pocket but i can swivel the key out when i need it.
