In an effort to stimulate our BF economy with more good spirits and general good vibes, in conjunction of reaching the unimaginable mile marker of my 3000th post(every one of them was full of very important information, honest;) ), I am going to conduct a little giveaway. Here's the program boys and girls:

You may particpate if you have been A. a BF member at least since Christmas of 2008 and B. been an active participant in THIS FORUM (TFandFB) with 25 or more posts. That makes just about every active participant in TFandFB eligible to get the prize...yea even Blues and Bastid!

If you are the big weener, all you will need to do is give me something folksy in exchange...your choice.

I will choose said weener this coming Wednesday evening (March 25th) or maybe later, depending on how I feel the whole deal is going. I will be using a completely scientific method of selection so there will be no doubt who the winner is.

Here's what yer gonna win...well it doesn't exactly look like that now but I will show you more crappy camera phone pix as the game progresses. GOOD LUCK! Oooops, almost forgot...just post in this thread and yer in.

This is the blade and spring just after heat treat and tempering. Prior to this the parts are cut to shape, profile cleaned up, centerline marked on blade edge, rough grinds accomplished, tang cleaned up and taken down about .005" in thickness, and stamped. "59.5" is the Rc hardness

Well, I'd like to say that all of the ones I've read out of that 3,000 were either very informative, or came with very pleasing(drool worthy) pics of blades! Thank you for your posts!

Now, judging from the scale of the OneTouch bottle(don't those make fabulous small parts storage bottles? ;) ) I'd say that's gonna be a sweet little knife!

I don't see any need to wait until Wednesday. You may as well just end it now and go with the top three :-) Very generous of you, Kerry.

Thanks for all of the great pictures. The rest of your posts, well, um, thanks for those too.

I have only had the pleasure of seeing pictures of some of your knives and WOW! The chance to own one can't be passed up.
I don't have a ton of posts, but most of them are in here. Can't wait to see the scales you choose for this one!
Thanks.

Congrats on the 3,000 quality posts Kerry! Thanks for the giveaway!

Gotta chime on on this. Kerry, it is not the number of posts, but the quality. You have added quite a bit to the atmosphere we enjoy here and I am sure many of us appreciate the efforts you have made as well as your sense of humor.

Thank you for the generous offer. We all look forward to the posting of your knives and Tony's when you have the opportunity. Mike

:thumbup:Kerry is DA MAN of the day :D!!! Congrats on the post count but more importantley the CONTENT, your knives and the pics you do are A+++++ and way !!

Wow, how exciting...got a few takers! So here's another crappy phone pic. Anybody want to venture a guess what color this is going to be when it's finished?:p

This is the blade right after finish grind and spring is sized in thickness to match the blade. At this point a get a bushing prepared to match the up with the set. After that, make two superglue sammiches with stainless and micarta for the handles.

The knife is now together for the first time with rough liner/cover assemblies and will be shaped to final profile prior to milling tang relief. It's starting to look like a pocket knife eh!
