Just wondering if you folks think that Jerry might put out an INFI Khukris in the future?

Any pro's or con's?

I'd buy one. But it technically isn't a khukri unless it was made in Nepal and the blade has the "clitoris of Kali" cut into it and had goat blood sprinkled on it by a village elder during some type of ceremony.

Where do you get that story about goat blood?

The notch is called a "cho", BTW. . .

I would love to have a Busse Khukuri. 3/8" thick spine, 15" blade.

that would be awesome but it would have to be about 16.5 inches OAL. I am already salivating. :D

Everything's covered:

Nepal / Ohio - is there a diff?

Goats blood - douse with black label? (satin le gets a jwb bath)

cho - call it the talon beak

My Gosh - A Busse Khukri!

That would make my HI Chiwara Ang Kola look like a butter knife!

I'll go against the grain and hope for 3/16".

:D

That cl...... of Kali is only ONE of many stories why the cho (indentations) is on a Khukuri. The truth has been lost in time. See the HI Imports forum for info, if you like.
Also, I think you are misinformed about the goat blood. The truth is that there some very large Khukuris that are made specifically to remove the head of a yak or oxen in some time of ceremony (that I admit to knowing little about), and this does NOT apply to most Khukris, and even if such a large Khurkuri never sees blood, it is no less of a Khukuri.
(again feel free to your own homework in the HI forum)

I'd buy a Busse khukri.

We need to go ahead and come up with names.

[whispery voice] If you name it, it will come. [/whispery voice]

I would gladly by a Khuk made from modern cutlery steel and a scientific heat treat and temper. Bound to be better than the dark room, crappy handle, tea pot to heat treat method.

Sign me up.

Here's a quick sketch that I came up with for a recent thread over on the Swamprat forum. It is for a Swamp Rat Khukuri, but it could easily be adapted for Busse usage. It would be a 3/8" thick, 18" OAL Khukuri with a 13" blade weighing in at around 28 -30 oz. The handle would be the same type as on the new Ratweiler.

The choil was thrown in as an ode to the "Cho" found on traditional Khuks. Not sure how useful it would be here, except looking cool.

Neat drawing!

I just posted this same interest in the ScrapYard.... I would love to get a modern Khukri... always loved the design!

Here's an old Becker Khukri from way back--a Reinhardt BK&T "Kukri" made in Effingham, Illinois. This one belongs to Bladite. I ripped off his picture from the Camillus forum.

Can you imagine something like this in INFI ?

Bark River is in the middle of designing a modern Khukuri. It should be interesting, but it won't be INFI.

I had a Reinhardt a while back, it was a solid damn blade with a nice heft. I highly doubt I'd ever be able to afford a Busse model, but it would be kickass to see one come about.

Oh, I remember now, it's "Dolores..."
