sweet everlasting christ i love double edged blades especialy this one.
Edit: discovered origins, HIKK, or the HI kenpo khukuri.
Bruce at one time in the Old U.S. of A. double blade knives were very popular and very common as well and I'm surprised that they're not very many of them left around anymore! As many of them as there were you would think the Gun & Knife shows would have lots of 'em.
Many of, if not most of, the old time knives came completely unsharpened so the new owner could put the type of edge he wanted on the knife.
Lots of them had what we call a "chisel grind" today. The popular double edged blades were sharpened differently on one side than the other.
Generally one edge was pretty obtuse for heavy and rough work like chopping and such and the other a very fine thin edge for skinning and the like.
And that's why you see a lot of old double edged blades with a very blunt rounded point, good for a working knife, not so good for killig people.
The old long thin double edged daggers similar to the later, and now old, British Commando Knife, Sykes Fairbairn I think it is?, were for the same purposes the S.F. Knife was developed for in the first place, killing people.
The long slender blade wasn't much good for anything else.
So you're in really good company in your love for this kind of double edged blades.
I kinda like 'em as well.
Oh, and I doubt you can have one.

I think all of the special order deals has dried up sadly due to Bill's health.
