I have a 12 inch AK made by Kesar. It is possibly my favorite but a tad big for everyday carry. The Kagas Katne is actually built pretty well, I just wish it was a little thicker. I could probably get away with using it every day; only time will tell. Rusty, if you carry a khukuri every day, which one is it? Maybe I could get away with the little 12 inch AK. Uncle Bill, is it possible to beef up a Kagas Katne?

Chris...
The trick is to go to http://www.timbuk2.com

IF if get one of the bigger bags (I have the bolo) you can fit at least three or four knives in the bag at once without any real problem at all.

I carry my 12"Ak with me everyday

I just got one of those steel mounted Kumar kardas. It may be a little big for a neck knife. I want to get one of the JKM-1 for that purpose. Got any coming soon Uncle?
Yvsa, I always called my "organic tool rest" overlapping muscle, I guess the right term for the situation.

I get the distinct impression that BirGorkha is not fond of making "small" blades for some reason.</font>

Then that means they sholdn't have a problem with H.I.'s Southwestern Style Bowie with a 12" blade and 18" oal?

Not wishing to change directions, but has anyone ever noticed the similarities in blade shape of the Cold Steel Vaquero and the Khukuri?

It's weight forward and has an elbow. I own one, and I guess you can use it for chopping (albeit, very light} according to the demonstration video. The shape DOES lend itself to some pretty wicked draw cuts.
