I just got an email from Kifaru sayim my woobie shipped finally!! :D

I am stoked. I have been a diciple of the poncho liner for years, and have put off ordering one of these for awhile, despite the great reviews. It will be my main "bag" for spring and summer, and a supliment to my primaloft bag in the colder months. Looks like I can retire my super thin GI poncho liner to the gear trunk. Final resting place of replaced, well loved gear. ;)

Anyone have one of these? How are you liking it?

Kifaru was great to deal with, and awnsered all of my questions very promptly. A great company.

I really like that from the pics Ive seen it appears to drape really well. I had a wiggys at one time, but it really didnt drape well, and it didnt compress down well either I thought.

looking forward to a review! those look like a nice piece of gear, and i agree that the photos make it appear to drape really nicely.

i have used my sleeping bag like a quilt, which has worked well, but i still feel like a simple quilt would be better.

They do drape well and are very slippery and light and seem to be totally wind proof...amazing material. Hope you enjoy it.

lucky dog.. i really like Kifaru's gear... too bad they're so damn expensive..:o

They are pricey. Thats what kept me from one for so long. I really want a top loading pack from em, but damn they are expensive, and I wanna make sure exactlywhich one I want first.

I am sure I will. I have wanted one for a long time.... :o

woobie! what a fun word! I want to name a dog that.

Kifaru makes some of the BEST gear out there! Very pricey, BUT you get what you pay for. Great item. You will be REAL happy with your purchase!

woobie = childs word for their special security blankey (mr. mom).

I don't even look at the stuff. Can't afford it, why drool all over my keyboard for no reason?:D

Yeah, cool thing is, I won 2000 bucks playin slots recently, and I split it with the wifey, so I got to order a few pieces of gear. :D

Nice, Jake! What a great reason to buy some gear!!! Congrats on the win.

I'm interested in hearing your review and seeing some pics of the woobie.

I've cut my teeth on a "woobie"...the original OD green version:D Let us know what you think about it Jake. I've been looking at it, just haven't pulled the trigger...if my little trip to Afgahnistan gets extended I may need it:eek:

Ouch man Afgahn? That blows. When do you ship?

Well, we're doing "crisis action" planning right now...everything is leaning towards the next 60-90 days, so the joys of planning for something without really knowing when is a lot of fun;) Problem is they won't let me stay on board much longer so I will most likely change out with my replacement in theater which is both good and bad, so we'll see how it turns out. Either way, my Thinsulate Woobie will be heading out with me:D

Damn man, yeah that would be rough to plan. Best of luck bro, make the best of it....

My original poncho liner is seeing duty as a light comforter around the house - that thing is over 17 years old. It's lost a few threads, and the camo is faded almost to OD, but it's still my favorite :)

I've thought about making my own Kifaru-esque "woobie", by sewing together a few yards of climashield insulation & some rip stop nylon (coated for the outside, uncoated for the inside). Material cost should be around $50 or so, and then the time to run a seam around the edges. One of many projects to work on when time allows.

I've had my woobie for about 6 months now and I wouldn't trade it for the world. It will be my humid/hot weather sleeping gear. You're going to love it! My girlfriend is secretly planning on taking it from me but I'll prevail.

I really like my woobie. It's pricey but a good piece of kit. If you like going minimal, I'm sure you'll like it too.

If its anything ike a poncho liner, I will love it. Ive been usin one of those for years. I checked the tracking, and it will be here wednesday!!
