Kind of a special one I saved from the brink

Thanks for sharing the story and the pictures. The knife looks great. I'm pretty sure he will like it a lot. More than that he might be thinking about the time and work you put in it. If it was me and my son did that rebuild I'd sure be proud of the patience and skills my son possessed and how he turned out as a person.

This was a great thread!

You're very fortunate to have your Dad and your Dad is lucky to have such an awesome son. You're a good man, Glen.

Well, I finally got over to visit with my parents. I was showing my father my edc, and he asked.."hey, what about that knife you were going to clean up for me?"

I told him I just happened to have it in my pocket for him, and that I had done a bit more than clean it up, LOL. He couldn't believe that it was even the same knife, he was totally tickled to get it back. I showed him pictures of what it looked like when I took it apart, he was amazed at how much damage was happening under the covers. It really made my day.

I was even glad to hear that he has been able to get down to his shop for a hour or two here and there to work on a few projects. His back does get to hurting and he has to stop, but he is able to do some work

Thanks for the comments everyone, I am sure you have or are going through the same types of things with parents like I am going through with my dad. It's sad to see them get old and not do the things they used to be able to do.

Glenn

Great work, it looks much better! Glad to hear that your dad was happy with it. What was the first thing that he cut with it??

Nice conclusion to the tale Glenn, good lad :)
