Hey all,

Im a little collector..I love the customs and have learned that to get the nice ones you have to get to a big show.
I come to knobCreek for two things..take my boy to bust some caps and to possibly score a couple knives.Nice ones. I save for months .always looking for the "one".

the hard Lesson i just learned while I just signed on is...Im not on the inside. That no matter how early you get to the table...( I was first...within a few seconds) that it is already picked over...By Inside stealth hogs, or other vendors at the show or who knows how...but some of that stuff just wasnt there to choose from..were there great knives to pick from...definately. I got a nice one. It would have been cool to get a warboar or an AK or the Argone ...wasnt an option. Not on the table. The realization that to own one of those ..iam gonna have to pay someone else the mark up and shipping to have it , no matter how hard I planned and strive to hold up my end be early, be first, and bring money...you get whats left over. Ok guys.. lesson learned. Dont even ask about a piece of cheesecake. Trust me ,I do understand that what I scored is part of the family of some of the best knives in the world...onward and upward...Flame on. No regrets.

You the guy with the sleeves?...if so we met..I told you about the steel heart I scored. You had the back pack..I was 10 feet behind you ,I was a close second or third. You started rattaling off names...like nightmare,ak and such at Garth he told you they were all gone and you said you were gonna shop for yourself then...yeah I was right there.

There are some very stealthy hogs out there. I have no idea how they land some of the INFI that crosses their path. I wish I knew their secrets (or at least had their connections)!!! :p:p:p

I've found that most of the stuff they have at the shows you can usually buy at the company store or on the exchange. But sometimes they give you a break on price at the shows. So I usually buy from the company store or from someone else on the exchange. In the long run you save a lot on gas and motel bills. But since you were taking your boy I could see why you wanted to go to the show.

I fast-walked through the crowd immediately following the National Anthem on Friday. I wasn't at the front of the crowd because it took longer to get to the parking lot than I thought. I got to the line of cars entering the access road at 8:30, but didn't reach the back on the crowd until 9:00. AKs, WarBoars, the single BA3, and SHSJ were aready gone. One Silent Knight was available, and it was still there when I left around 2:00PM. I bought a SHBM in Arctic white (unfortunately, I dropped it on the way out to my car and chipped the coating -- I'm going to try touching it up with bright white auto touch-up paint, but I didn't even get it home in mint condition:()

I also got a pack full of Scrap Yards (24), a few of which they only had one of, and a Skinny ASH in Bama clay. Anyway, even when I got there, at the very start on Friday, there was already a lot sold out -- I don't know if selling started before 9 or if the front of the wave was able to grab and check out before I could work my way through. Unlike the Spring sale, I was told that everything hit the tables from the start; there were no set-aside boxes for Saturday or Sunday.

Equitable distribution is a complex topic. On one hand, the Busse crew might set things aside for each of the show days, so that people who come on Saturday and Sunday still have opportunities for highly-sought models. However, there's a Busse tradition of first-come first-served, and if they have somebody who wants a burl-handled Silent Knight for $1397 on Friday, but no assurance that someone will buy it on Sunday, then it only makes sense for them to sell it on Friday.

I benefited from the distribution at this year's show -- I wouldn't have gotten the Scrap Yard "treasures" I did (Arctic white, Bama clay, and Moss coated Yard Keepers and Dumpster Mutts) if they'd have been set aside for other days; the same applies to that SHBM. I understand that you might be frustrated because, since I got them on Friday and many were one-offs, they weren't available for you. I try to make a point of being there at the start on Friday, but I may need to consider getting there even earlier next time -- but the rules might be different next time too, you just never know.

brother I was their friday morning at 820 am ( alittle secret...I RAN on the outside of the main hall where all the vans and such are parked, so no one was in front of me.) I was the guy that waited 25 minuets for them to write up and finish checking out all your scrap yards..I was next checking out....I asked if that was all the customs and they said yes..I came by several times during the day just to make sure they werent fibbing...I was right behind our tattood friend on sat....just to make sure I didnt miss anything...and to come here and see the pics of what went and what was there was quite different, was a letdown is all.

I didnt know I couldnt compete before I showed up.

its all good...the race is long

Busse Motto=NO Regets

Chickenpluckers Motto= Wherever there is confusion there is money to be made.

Two very good mottos IMO.
