Noob question, what pattern is this single bladed model? Thanks, great pics and knives!!

I like 'em a bunch too SunnyD. They are just a real pain to get decent photos of. Pearl is tuff to shoot. I'll play around with a few tho and see what happens. I might even learn sumpin'.
Greg

They're celluloid and are refered to as "End of Day". When the old knife companies handled their knives in celluloid there would be bits and pieces of scrap from different colors and types left on the tables at the end of the work day. They would take these pieces and put them together to make a new handle material. Hence the name "End of Day".

Oh man!

I thought it was some deep statement about what the chaos might look like at the end of days!!
You know "Kinda Purdy"

Good photography tip, neeman. Learning something all the time in here.

Six blade Congress w/scrimshaw scroll and pearl..

I forgot that piece had a file blade until just now. Thanks SunnyD.
Greg

Sure Greg, glad to help. I have used that nail file several times and I assure you in functions just as intended.. :D

That Gunstock Whittler is some serious eye candy to this old boy. What a fine looking piece!

Here is 1970's Congress pattern with a Whittler blade combo that has been in my edc rotation for many years now...

There was a custom three blade congress whittler by Bill Ruple recently sold on Nordic Knives a week or so back. Not a pattern you see often.

Elliot and Ice Tigre,

This is true. A unusual blade combination in that pattern. I got it in mint condition with some other FR's and just couldn't help using that one because of my affliction for Whittler's. I have never been disappointed either. Many folks you speak with believe that Frank Buster only produced these pieces more for the collector market and not so much for use and that is certainly true to a great extent. However, I can attest that this one has proved to me that they are every bit as tough as they are pretty.

Old Cuz would be proud to see us dueling with his classic Kick'n Chicken creations. .:D . . I just wish some others would contribute and get into the act.. Sunburst kicked in a few beauty's! :) Come on Boyz.. Where you at?
