Kit Carson Model 4 owners....whats your opinion?

Guys, I gotta say that I am honored by what you have all written. I just try to make a good knife and stand behind it.
Thanks for the kind words.

My large #4 is on its way to Kit as we speak for a re-handling job. Got some really nice redwood burl scales that Kit is putting on in place of the mircarta.
Kit has been patient, kind and gracious as we worked out details over the phone and e-mail. Its been a real pleasure ironing out the small stuff and I can't wait to see the knife when it gets back.
I have a knife on order with Kit that is still 18 months away, I should be just about bored with the large #4 by then........NOT!

Rogue,
Don't sweat it. Just got an email reply back from Les and he says that Kit makes these every once in a while and it will be a few months down the road before any are available. Les has 3 on order and two are spoken for including me. This gives you several months to put back the cash to get one. That is half the fun. Putting back the cash you ned to get it and anticipating it the whole time. Other knives will come along to grab your attention but you will know you have one of the best tactical folder makers making you a knife. The day it arrives will make the waiting worthwhile. Get on the horn to Les and tell him you want the BAK when one comes in. You WILL NOT regret it. Anyway you could sell it for more than you have in it!

Senator, that is truly a fine blade. I long for a small 4 with wood handles and a D-2 blade. I'm sure that that would make for a nearrly perfect little user. Keep posting those pictures guys, just can't seem to get enough of them.

I have carried my Model 4 everyday for 2 years and has worked very well for me.It has a D2 blade and stays sharp a long time and even though I work in an environment that subjects my knife to steam and water I have never noticed any rust at all.

Well I have been carrying this Carson Model 4 since Wednesday and believe it to be one of the most comfortable I have had in my pocket. It rides deep and flat which is just how I like it. Everyone I have showed this knife too has gone ape over it. I believe I made a good choice on this one.
