KITH 2 - Finished Knives

Possum -- If you haven't opened the package yet, don't look. :D

Anyway, he's the knife I made. I went with something hefty with 1/4-inch 0-1 with bocote, SS tubing, paper micarta bolsters, and a swedge.

Whoa! Say, when do you guys want to do the next KITH? I think the first one was around New Year last time, too. Is that a good time of year or would something else be better?

Howdy There......!
Man, just open the box this morning....! This thing is a monster...! Don't know what kind of critters yall got up there in Ohio, but this would take on a grizzly..! I was floor when I opened the box, I don't have a fighter and this one certainly fills the bill. It is great...! When and where do we post our review? Thanks for an unbelievable knife.

Grassebud,

Thanks for the post. That is a super little knife. Nathan sure does super work. I am still trying to figure out his grinding technique.

I treated your blade to approx. 60 HRc. It should make a very nice lttle cutter for hunting and fishing.

You are right,He really does a great job.His grinding technique is awesome,I can't quite figure it out either. When he said tapered tang,I thought he meant in the traditional sense. Not from the spine down, very unique!Almost too beautiful to use, can't wait to give it a long term test-drive though. Too nice not to use it.

Your treat is spot on.That baby will take an edge and hold it.

Grassebud,

You bet. I looked and looked at that grind. Never got tired of it. That filework is a piece of art too. He has tried to explain his grind to me over the phone but either I can't keep up or he's teasing me.

Thanks for the edge report. Any feedback about that, good or bad, is very helpful for me.

Roger

Hey, who's this Nathan feller anyway?:D

Maybe one of these days when I figure out how to use a camera I'll take a series of pictures to show you guys how I do that.

I hate to see this thread just fall to the wayside. I just received my knife from Dr. Steve. Here are a few pics. Steve can fill you in with all the details.
