I'm finalizing the designs now. I hope some of you guys like tantoish looking things, as well as daggers and hunters...Should have a thread started within a few days.
I'll start a thread with the 3 designs- any suggestions for a name for that thread are welcome. They will be named A, B, C. During the course of two weeks, makers will come to a decision as to which design they will choose, and contact me privately with their commitment to follow through with the project, and I will mail them a photocopy or scan of their chosen design. You can pull out at any time, but I might call you a pussy and laugh in your face. Unless your gramma's dying, then I'd blush, mumble 'sorry' or whatever and kind of kick at the dirt for a bit with my hands in my pockets.
While this time passes, people can discuss the designs, suggest changes, argue and agree and do what people enjoy doing in forums. But the designs are the designs and that is what each participant will receive. Once they receive it they can interpret it however they want. This includes construction method, materials, dimensions, size, shape- whatever they see fit.
After all the makers receive the design of their choice by mail, Matt will start a poll for the most favourite design. No particular reason, but it would be interesting to see how that relates to what the makers chose to make. Might invite some collectors on down to participate in the poll.
The build off will conclude June 30, so there should be time after Blade to finish up the knives.
This will also give enough time to discuss HOW this knife making event will generate a financial benefit for something important to us all. Perhaps we could discuss that topic in this thread.

Suggestions for 'Benefit Factor', please!! Who or what should benefit from this knifemaking event?
