  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Uggghhhh....the fullsize models are sweet. I guess I'm going to need to grab one or two more. I posted a pic in the New Acquistions thread, I picked one of these up after I kept seeing Mick Boardman Mick Boardman getting a lot of enjoyment (and use!) out of his. I need both those colored scale models for sure.

Got my first one today and I like it! I did modify it a smidge to fit my hands a little better though. I ground a little wider index finger area as well as elongating the thumb area and adding jimping. Lastly I rounded off the butt of the knife to make it more comfortable. I plan on sanding and polishing up those areas more tomorrow to fussy it up.

PenisMightier PenisMightier May I ask what tools you used? Looks very cool👍🏼🔪
Thanks!

I used a dremel with an orange stone grinder drum for the reprofiling grinding/sanding work. Then I used what I believe it is called a die grinder for doing the jimping. It’s a circular metal rod with diamond abrasive that I just ran back and forth side to side to make semi circular jimping.

Next up is to finish it over with some sandpaper tomorrow to make it more smooth/finished looking

I did my final mods on this yesterday. I polished the screw heads to give it a different look. I then epoxied on the handles and screws so no stuff would get behind it as I use it to help make lunches for my family in the mornings. Lastly I put a fresh edge on it with my diamond stones and a strip, and boy does it cut now. Interesting enough, the balance shifted a little towards the back of the knife with the epoxy added on. I didn’t expect it to change the knife that much.
